Mitsubishi Evo X at Geneva
March 7, 2007 by Alborz Fallah
Mitsubishi has put their proud Evo X concept on display at the Geneva motorshow (its a shame it didn’t come to Melbourne!).
Initially on display at the Detroit Motor Show in January 2007, Prototype-X is a design study for the new Lancer Evolution X due to be launched this year.
The Prototype-X is based on the all-new Lancer sports sedan due to be launched in America in March. Mitsubishi says:
The exterior styling forcefully projects the car’s ruggedly athletic performance qualities while the strongly function-oriented design and high-quality materials used in the interior encourage the driver to concentrate on operating his machine.
The concept car is set to be a dead ringer for production model Evo X. Mitsubishi has put all its knowledge and automotive engineering technology into this car.

Mechanical features include:
- Mitsubishi’s S-AWC (Super All-Wheel Control. : Vehicle dynamics system that integrates control of drive torque, braking, steering and suspension at all four wheels.) built around a 4WD driveline
- a new aluminum block MIVEC turbocharged engine mated to a high-performance six-speed automated manual transmission
- aluminum in some body panels to reduce body weight

Is it me, or does that look very similar to the Aurion TRD?
The only real similarity is the carbon grille (if that is carbon). Not a real fan of that now because you can’t exactly show off your intercooler now. I think this is a great looking car, even though some people aren’t a big fan of it, wait for the Evo 11 and 12 which will probably be facelifted designs going by the evo’s history and you will see an even more aggressive and beutifully styled car. Oh and there is the performance, no similarity to the TRD Aurion there.

Lol wtf is with the TRD Aurion bashing… why dont you say the same about the SS (Considering it has 1800kg of weight to lug around and plenty of room for a booster seat). Its a nice car though the Evo, I think Id get an Aurion though, balances out performane abit more with other things like interior comfort and better features (more than likely ride comfort will be better as well).
I ain’t bashing it I’m just saying it has no similarity to the Evo. And also I would prefer it over a bogandoore any day.
I think the current Commodore, Falcon and Aurion were all designed by the same person. They all look so similar (read: Not saying they’re the same).
Out of that lot I’d pick the the Toyota. Why?
My neighbour has had 4 Mistubishi’s. All lemons. Some of them have had catastrophic failures on freeways. One burst into flames. These were all new cars, not neglected second hand ones.
My best mate got a Lancer for his 21st birthday from his parents. Lots of things are going wrong with it.
Another mate of mine bought an Aussie imported EVO. He’s had WRX’s and other high performance cars. He said that the EVO has caused him the most headache. But all is forgotten when he drives it… as long as it works.
I’d rather not tempt fate and buy a Mitsubishi myself to see how crap they are. No wonder the three dealers I pass on the way to work are closed down down.
There might be hundreds of people that have great Mistubishi cars. But the guys I know have had nothing but issues. And word of mouth is the best way to promote or deter customers.
Cheers
Steve

Ok, so that explains why you don’t want a Mitsubishi, but what about the Falcodore?

The Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano Sets a New Benchmark in the Sports Car
World
The Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano set a new benchmark of excellence in the
sports car world after it was introduced at the 2006 Geneva Motor
Show. This stunning new all-aluminum two-seater is summed up rather
succinctly by its own name and delivers everything that this promises.
Fiorano after the circuit Ferrari uses to hone the performance of its
track and road cars; GTB as in Gran Turismo Berlinetta after the most
famous Ferrari berlinettas ever built; and 599 to reflect the
displacement of its V12 engine divided by 10.
