I think Aussie cars are cheap,PRACTICAL,powerful,comfortable and the culture comes from having to drive great distances on B and dirt,there very good at what there built for.I’d rather drive a High end Aussie car from Bris to Mel then this flat astra look-a-like.This is a “latte run” car.

I think this car is great! I totally agree with Yianni, but in this case Renaults are worse off in Australia than Citroen and Peugeot.

The 307 has sold really well for being European, and the C4 is still seen occasionally. Compared to the Mégane which is seen once in a blue moon. Its sad, Renault build great cars at the moment, like the new Laguna. I think they should introduce more of their European range here (like the base Clio, and the new Laguna Coupe), maybe they would be able to build a better reputation. The Clio was their best seller, till they got rid of it.

When they introduce this Mégane late 2009 or early 2010, hopefully it’ll bring up their game.

You can’t blame Aussies for buying a limited amount of European cars, considering they are priced signficantly higher than their Japanese/Korean alternatives.

You either appreciate cars from Renault, Citroen and Peugeot or you simply hate them.

Australia is still stuck in the olden days where a box shape car is what they look for.

Europeans are known for style and class in everything that they do. If you don’t appreciate this car then obviously you haven’t lived in Europe to appreciate the style and culture or are too thick headed to get over the “Commodore and Falcon are the best” way of thinking.

If I’m not mistaken even Japanese and Korean manufacturers are styling their cars in Europe these days.

Great stuff Renault! Looking forward to seen one of these babies on the road when I head over to Europe early next year.

looks great. Especially the new rear end. This on should be a cracker and will hopefully give the Golf GTI a run for its money.

Save your breath Brett we live in the land of the V8/Big6 Bogan. Beautiful cars like this one will go sadly unappreciated in this country in spite of their awesomeness.

Renault Sport hatches are only unappreciated in this stupid country. The land of the dunnydore ! Reports in Europe suggest a much more aggressive front end. If the current R26 is anything to go by this thing should be a cracker. Interesting if it competes well with the GTI as they are already far quicker.

From the rear it looks wonderful minus the exhaust which is placed in the middle and the front is fine but it will go out of date very fast!

Scirocco better than this anyday….and why does nissan get any such models…why does it seem that renault benefits from the alliance, while nissan gets stuffed with the “Tiida”!
