The annoyance of the 2008 AIMS
October 9, 2008 by Paul Maric
What is the best way to annoy three photographers at once?
Well, sit in front of them with your oversized camera, of course.
Despite several requests to move, this one camera man continuously got in the way of all the photographers attempting to get shots of new models.
So here he is, being shamed!

I reckon you need to out his face and organisation as well.
Just a gentle push would put him off balance.
Followed by a
“Sorry mate, was that camera expensive? It looked like it was expensive”
“hey security! this guy is upskirting!”
/in a LOUD voice…
That should fix that..
I would have been FUMING!!!
Who’s the guy in the bottom left picture? Is he part of the entourage required for such massive equipment or is he pulling a plug on the jerk?
Plug puller Golfy…
He could be the official n1pple tweaker for the stand girls…?
BOO HOO!!!!
OMG im going to the motor show and im gonna see that!
Isn’t the real annoyance the fact that 18 different car companies didn’t show up?
I would have spilt my coffee over him. Ooops sorreee mate!!!
Looks as though there was enough room to play leap frog – that is where you get in front of him closer to the car so all he has in shot is the back of your head.. [Qui Pro Quo]
Or simply just bulled the little blue cord out of back of the camera
Just a nice little alfoil cap for his transmitter unit.
Err- am I missing something here?
- Caradvice photographers spit the dummy because another press photographer stole their righteous place at the head of the queue????
Seems to me the guy was doing his job like everyone else and this article reflects a Caradvice superiority complex that is not warranted.
Reckless1, Err are you missing something!
I assume that camera has a zoom on it. When there are other people trying to do their jobs and one selfish prat hogs all the available space, that is a problem.
I bet your a slow walker or a line cutter aren’t you Reckless1. Oblivious to others around you and only concerned with your own needs. That’s why you can relate to the prat.
Anyway
That blue wire in the pics looked awfully important and ripe for the unplugging. Too bad you have missed your opportunity now.
Reckless, the guy could have been a few paces back and not been in any ones way with no one being in his way.
I am missing nothing.
The guy chose where he wanted to take his shots, that’s what photographers like to do, they even get paid for it.
If someone else thinks they own the subject of the photo, they are wrong, and have the freedom of choice to take a picture of one of the other 300 cars at the show, because this bloke is not in front of any of those.
Feel free to think. I stand by my comment.
Who cares the motor show is crap, I went last night on free invite from VW so it cost me nothing but I`m so glad i didn`t pay it is not worth it.
Reckless1:
Your armchair expertism is quickly becoming an attraction to this site.
You seem qualified enough to comment on the circumstances despite the fact that you weren’t there!
The photographer who took these photos said that they – along with ALL other media – were standing behind a fenceline which was erected for the unveiling.
Our photographer arrived 3 minutes before the presentation and had the first spot.
The rest of the photographers then arrived, forming an orderly line around the fence.
It wasn’t long before the cameraman pictured crossed over the fence and sat in front of at least 3 photographers.
Unless you were actually there, you really shouldn’t bother making up fairy tales.
No, Paul, I wasn’t there. Were you, with your photographer?
Why didn’t the three aggrieved photographers grab the guy and pull him behind the line for being such a naughty boy, blocking the only car available for a photo. And after your bloke was first in line, too. Damn those schoolyard bullies, this is how they turn out if not punished from an early age.
Pretty childish and petulant to “shame” the enterprising cameraman by publishing his crime, especially since he is so easily recognizable from behind.
What exactly is “expertism” ? Couldn’t find it in the Oxford or Cambridge dics.
Please stick to reporting on cars, it suits the purpose of the site better :)
Reckless1:
Yes, in fact I was there. Which is why I suggested you had no idea what you were talking about.
Regarding “expertism”, I would recommend you search a bit harder for the word or do a quick search on the internet – you seem like you spend a fair bit of time on there.
