Good point Reality, and how would the batteries handle it the extreme change in weather we have in Australia. One day hot the next cold.

When they say it has a range of 60 km, does that take into account being stuck in traffic during a 40 degree day?

LOL! They must have rocks in their Head.

If they release that thing at 50K. In the current economic climate.

Then you have Honda releasing their Insight for 30K and Toyota with the new Prius for im sure for about 35K.

It wont survive, especially wearing a Holden Badge.

Fix the pricing, then we might actually consider it.

Worst thing that can happen, by the time we see it in production form, and they sell it for 50K. Honda will have their CR-Z Hybrid on sale.... I know what I will choose.

Actually they're using lithium ion batteries, hence the expence. My only grip with this car is selling it, as it only has a range is 64Km.

Now I know that it has a engine to recharge the batteries, but it's that perception that this car is going to be more expensive to run after that intial 64Km.

I just love listening to the resistance to change from the folks around these parts. Let the big companies build the electric econoboxes, eventually the market will want more and as battery tech and electric motor tech improves we will get a kick arse electric car that is fun to drive.

Let the car makers walk before you try and make them run. Bringing something new to the market takes time to birth properly.

Are the batteries included ???????? WOW $50,000 alot of money for nothing,, the Volt sounds like the name of a battery not rearly suited for a plugin lawnmower, The Priass and Volt is a huge bag of $hit, the old acid waste technology is down right stupid, still waiting for hydrogen to take over....

Hmmm maybe this argument is too complex to discuss on a forum..
But briefly Toyota dont hurt their shareholders, burn their dealers, knowily rip off their customers,(let alone kill them,Remember that Ford, GM fans, your company has tried to kill you in the past though negligence). No there (Toyota) cars in Australia are not exciting as europe, but then again neither is Australia!
This is a very conservative country so we get the product mix we deserve.
GM are in more than difficulties... If some people on this site knew the whole awful truth they would be so angry..

Basically most people's negativity on this website against Toyota is this and this only... TOYOTA DONT SELL A REAR DRIVE SPORTS CAR IN AUSTRALIA WITH 4 DOORS AND OVER 280 KW!

And Ford and GM pray every day they never do....
