Just shows that Holden means a great deal to Australia. Even though I truely feel sorry for the workers at least that stupid Holden will keep his stupid mouth shut about Mitsubishi. I find it disgusting how they can can sell 3.5 times the amount per month of their large car than mitsubishi can and they run at a far larger loss and yet they are still planning to manufacture and stockpile the same quantity of cars. It is the management down at Holden that have no idea (especially that yank CEO who covers up everything). This is still fixable, get somebody smart in whom knows how to run the company far more efficiently and you won't end up like Ford posting a loss of 6 million per day. So Steane, does my beloved MMAL really have a greater chance of closing its doors than MMAL? Holden haven't recorded a profit in what, almost 5 years now? The past two years they lost about 140 million per year after tax respectively? I'm just stirring you with facts mate.

I think Holdens idea of a future alternative fuel is Optimax!

They seem to be in complete denial there is even a problem. Management heads need to roll over this. Not the poor buggers that have been working the line for 25 years!!

Holden have always refused to bring out a Diesel Commodore, and its ridiculous for them to say that Australia is not ready for Diesel!

Diesel sales are higher than ever before and even the likes of Toyota who are championing Hybrid cars are far ahead of Holden in Diesel technology.

So its now officially the billon dollar balls up! 600 workers will lose their jobs because Holden hasn't kept its eye on the market trend. And according to the Age Holdens stance on diesel was:-

"But its biggest seller, the Commodore, only comes with petrol engines. Asked about a diesel Commodore, executive director Alan Batey said: "Right now, in Australia, there's no case for it."

But wasn't Holden looking at the 185KW Diesel engine from Italy?
