Volvo XC90 and XC70 – Electric Cooling Fan Recall

Volvo Australian is recalling 74 XC90 and XC70 SUVs following a fault with the vehicles Electric Cooling Fan.

Model Years From: 2007

Whats broken: The Electric Cooling Fan control unit’s metal cover may not have the specified corrosion protection. Should this be the case the metal cover will experience an accelerated corrosion process, which may lead to moisture ingress and electrical malfunction.

What will happen: Electrical malfunction of the cooling fan may result in high engine temperature generating a warning message in the Driver Information Module, high engine temperature shown in instrument gauge.

What you should do: Contact your Volvo dealer. The repair will be carried out at no cost to the owner.
