Hyundai production back in full swing

October 2, 2008 by Matt Brogan

Those awaiting new offerings from Hyundai can see the light at the end of the tunnel with the cessation of industrial action in Korea bringing the export market back to normal.  Hyundai Motor Company Australia has announced a back log of orders will be hitting Australian shores later this month.

The production interruption which has affected several countries including Australia has been ongoing since 40,000 workers at Hyundai Motor Company walked off the job in June as labour unrest escalated in South Korea.  The ships due late October carrying the much-awaited cars will include a shipment of the i30 and iLoad van range.

This industrial action is nothing. you should see the ‘war’ they had at the factory not long ago. Workers baraccaded (sic) the front gate with petrol tankers rigged with explosives and were armed with ak 47’s!
The army had to be called in and all ended in tears. unbelievable how fired up these normally pretty passive people can get.
There uni students are worse with the ‘riot season’ instead of schoolies!

Thank goodness that’s over then, so my Aussie mates on http://www.i30ownersclub.com can get their long awaited dream drives :)
