I have a Territory Ghia AWD.
One of the best cars on the road.
Had mine for five years and kluger does not come close.
Pity Ford has not given the territory a facelift in five years.
Wake up Ford. I went to a dealership to purchase a new territory but could not bring myself to sign for vehicle that has the same spec as the one I purchased five years ago.
I’m looking to move to another manufacturer.
Come-on Ford, get your act together.

Lol mega heaps………..all the passsssion people have with Aussie cars does ‘not’ equate to sales success! The front needs to change as looks way way way too old and rest of car just needs a minor makeover!

I’ve heard the BS of how the craptiva is so much better on fuel than The Territory So it dam well should be it’s have the size, I’ll keep my Territory better looking fit more in it and has the guts to tow. Hope that they don’t facelift it to look like the shit SUV’s coming out of Europe. keep the nice high roofline, wide body etc. not a little yuppy thing some of use need the workhorses. Long live the Aussie built cars.

Our SY AWD SR gets 10.5 L/100km most times, 9.5 on occasion. Worst of 12.5 very fully laden into a headwind for holidays. We don’t live in a city, though. Prior to purchase I hired a SX RWD 4 speed auto, and it was far more thirsty.

The SR definately looks better with blackouts on the wheels. Our build quality is pleasing and no rust detected anywhere as yet, one and a half years later, and it’s been out in the elements quite a bit.

In case you think other SUVs are decent on fuel, road tests put the new CRV on 17 L/100km and Captiva at 16L/100km. If anything the SY 6 speed auto using a big torquey motor and tall gears can top this.

Territory’s dynamics still shame the rest of its class, they are superb.

Agree though that Ford sorely need a diesel and a facelift.

No, toyota’s are not the cheapest vehicle in each catagory they sell in. (often the most expensive).
Hard to sum up in a short space but probably because they are the most trusted and they think long term. They have a ’steady as she goes’ approch and are VERY stable.

west man,sounds like you got a goodie,i’ve seen 16-18 ltrs/100kms out of the awd(yours too totally around town).like all the new big sedan/suv’s,they work best around 100 clicks(hwy use).even the ve sedan will get 8.5 lts/100kms on the open road,and it’s heavvvy.anyway i’m glad you love it(it will justify the loss)

What about the poor build quality and the fact that they rust early? No amount of extra equipment would entice me in to buying one of these! There are too many reports of second hand Territory’s that have rusted in spots with poor paint/protection. Just read that last page of Carsguide in Friday’s Daily Telegraph (Sydney), they usually feature a letter from an unsatisfied Territory customer ever few weeks regarding early signs of rust!

Adam totally agree. I have a six speed all wheel drive SR.
It is bloody brilliant.

JEYKL & HYDE you say a big fuel guzzler ?? Do you own one and know what fuel economy it gets ? Mine is always around 11.5 L/100 average cycle. That seems a whole lot better than the V8’s on the market, and this is a two tonne car!!
Get a grip.

I agree with general sentiment, time for a facelift FORD.

Oh and lets offend the Ghia customers by offering there ‘exclusive’ colours to the masses.
And you wonder why Ford Dealers will start closing there doors in the near future…
