The cheapest way into the seat of a new Mercedes-Benz

Getting comfortable in the seat of your brand-new Mercedes-Benz has just become a whole lot cheaper.

The German-based luxury car maker has teamed with the Formitalia Luxury Group, one of the Italy’s leading manufacturers of… designer furniture.

Created under the new Mercedes-Benz Style label, the collection was launched in Milan this month and comprises a sofa, a chaise lounge, a dining room table, numerous chairs, a sideboard, a shelf unit with integrated home theatre system, a chest of drawers, and a bed.

Mercedes-Benz design chief Gorden Wagener said the new pieces meant the brand’s automotive-inspired designs could now move out from the garage into every room in the house.

“The various pieces of furniture reflect the progressive, dynamic design idiom of our current show cars and concept vehicles, offering an exclusive, emotional experience outside our vehicles as well,” Wagener said.

The pieces incorporate a number of materials common with the prestige marque’s road cars, including leather, contrast stitching, aluminium, wood and Mercedes-Benz paints.

All pieces are produced by Formitalia and will be sold around the world from October.
