fasthonda you are on the money about the vette! all it shows is that the only way GM know how to make a car faster is to bore out the engine instead of developing a ohc engine rather then a 30 year old pushrod system. for example if the gtr had a 7 litre v8 block to work their magic on, you would see engine figures that would make you cream your pants

Don't people want proper sports cars? With a naturally aspirated v8 engine, rwd and a 6 speed manual transmission?

Newer isn't always better.

The GTR is evidence that when the right plan, people and funds are in place, car manufacturers can come up with the goods.
In terms of the GTRs competitors .The Porsche does obviously have the name/status over the GTR and it does look better IMHO.The GTR however has shown that it is faster than the GT3 and Porsche turbo-whether the direct injection and the "new" PDK transmission will change that remains to be seen.
The Corvette well,it's just a sports car with a large capacity motor-big deal.I don't even consider it a competitor-stoneage junk!

I don't think anyone really cares enough to argue anymore, they are all ridiculously fast and more money than most people can afford.

Oh, and vette > gtr.
