Destroying a Camry is a good start to any show!

  2. SuperCujo says:

Looks better than any Aussie car show so far.

One minor quibble is the driving segments don’t seem to have that velvety smooth look that Top Gear does so damn well. Maybe that is just the harsh Aussie sun compared to the permanent British cloud cover.

  3. George says:

“Gee we’re a couple of big bushmen” “Bee! Bee!”

Got a genuine laugh out of me, can’t wait to see it!

Supercujo, that might not be a bad thing with many Top Gear fans complaining about the complexity of the UK editing.

  4. Realcars says:

I hope we still get to see the pommy original as well!

Any chance of the ABC rerunning ancient Torque episodes with Peter Wherret?

  5. alborz says:

Well, I am genuinely surprised! It actually looks good! Here is to Top Gear AU

  6. laurie says:

What ……… is the starting time a secret

    laurie

  7. slugger says:

    Oh…he said ‘better than sex.’

Anyone who says that about a car is

    a) an idiot

    and

    b) doing both of them wrong. Really wrong.

And I can’t help it, but I think Warren Browne is a complete tool.

  8. Frenchie says:

I like to see the UK and Aussie Topgear presenters get together and do a show! Call it a Topgear Ashes Tour.

  9. pg says:

Frenchie your a genius, now make it happen.
The show does like awesome though, but anything with a camry getting beaten is good

  10. ABC says:

If it’s able to offer a substitute for Jeremy Clarkson’s sarcasm and over-the-edge analogy, and Richard Hammond’s subtle humor, to say the least, I would say it’s good.

  11. kgl. says:

yeah i like the gps comment in the end, definitely looks to be pure entertainment.

    Looking good hurry up 29th!

  12. The Salesman says:

Looks like it will be great, i can’t wait. Very exciting

  13. Gibbo says:

I was at the recording of it last night, and all I can say is it rocked. This IS going to be a great show.

  14. Ef says:

    Gibbo:

I agree. I was there too, and considering it is a carbon copy (with few surprises) of the UK show, I think the guys are doing a great job. As we get to know the team better I think the show will grow.

  15. krosboe=w says:

    looks promising on my behalf…

  16. VW_Freak says:

I hope they give that TuRD Hilux a good royal flogging!

  17. Brad says:

Damn, I can’t see these embedded vids at work ;( But based on the comments, it’ll be a great series!! I can’t wait…

  18. DanMan says:

Judging by the way the magazine is flogging wheels in the newsagency (top gear sells out in 4 days, wheels left gathering dust) this how should be a hit.
An electronic media version of the magazine will be a south park like smash for SBS.
    Go you good thing..

  19. Falcodore says:

    Yes, my horn does work.

  20. The Original Tom says:

Yep, looks promising. Mix of entertainment and cars, but without trying to be too much like someone else.

Presenters seem like the sort of Aussie blokes we all are likely to have as friends (even that old guy), so we should feel right at home.

  21. Oz. says:

Very promising indeed, I’m feeling excited already. Looks like they’ll be having a junk yard race too.

I have one last thing to say about this…

CAN’T WAIT, BRING IT ON!!!

  22. o says:

it will be promising as long as every episode isnt a differnt varient of a commodore v falocn ala whhels mag

  23. Ef says:

    O:

Holden vs Ford is due in episode 2.

  24. Austin says:

Ok I was a sceptic, up until I got watching that video. Anyone who manages to get burn outs on haul roads past mine managers has me thoroughly impressed. A combination of blowing stuff up, having fun in cars and lots of dirt and breaking things, men after my own heart. I better be able to download these from the net when I go to NZ for 12 months, might have to buy the DVD and get it shipped to sheep land.

  25. “Holden vs Ford is due in episode 2. ”

Here we go again…same old debate…bigger engine with most kilowatts will win regardless of how much fuel will take.

  26. Oz. says:

O, yes I agree but you can’t have an Aussie car show without some kind of Ford vs Holden rivalry. It’s just that there should be more on the show than just comparisons between 2 car makers in every episode.

  27. Oz Flight says:

Well im not watching ep 2 then if its got holden vs ford, its already been done to death and is very boring… please dont do it regularly, keep it fresh and interesting like the UK one!

  28. Motorvated says:

Didn’t expect the utter copy of UK format even down to the segment of some moronic pursuit and the bloody Stig – puleez. Can’t believe how closely they have cloned the 3 stooges from the UK. I expected at least SOME originality and although Warren Brown is entertaining, he’ll have his work cut out to save the show from the other two self confessed heroes.

  29. wally says:

I wood hav thort that if you are doing an aussie version then it should be aussie themed, not a straight out copy of the english version. The Stig is the poms driver, why dosn’t the aussie test driver have an aussie name???

We wood also like to here the awesome sound of the engines that you show and not miss it because all we here is you guys going corrr or geez or making sounds that you would normally here on a sunday morning after a nite on the piss!!!! Please let us here the engines they have such a beautiful noise on there own rite. Thanks
