I just put a deposit on a diesel and eagerly awaiting, i only wanted a manual but agree a auto would be handy round town. I was looking to wait for a Mondeo in Sept they say but drove one in NZ for a week and then a 6 here for a few days and the 6 is the better unit hands down. Build quality, street appeal and fuel economy wins hands down!

Baji clearly has no clue about the accord and mazda 6! the mazda 6 sales are killing the accord in all aspects and with the new T/diesel coming out soon this will furher inforce than supremecy even without a auto which is still being developed. Why are you Australians so lazy you can't drive a manual car?

You will only ever achieve 5.9 L/100 on the freeway believe me! Typically around town its more like 7.8 L/100 coz you can't help but lay the boot in regularly coz its too easy!!
Want that gap in the traffic....zoom....its in simple as that! whatever gear you are in.
Its cheap for the quality thats fo sure...

...disclaimer/ I don't work for Mazda :)

I will be trading my current Mazda6 MZR-CD in for one of these no probs....but 400NM....holy sheet!! the front tyres already have enough problems getting ripped by 350NM...and auto?! whats that?
Like the other chap said...you just stick it in one gear anyways and the engine does all the work. Oh and you have not tasted a good manual gearbox (for this price) until you have driven a mazda 6-speed box....bloddy slik!!
Counting the days :)

400nms! With that much torque you probably wont need to change gears much anyway, just stick it in 4th and let the motor do the work lol
anti-spam word = MPS3, the mazda i really want!
