Only a few days ago, Steve Jones steered his legendary Nissan GT-R to victory at Targa West to become the youngest winner in the events history - narrowing out favourite Jim Richards in his Porsche 911 GT2 by 15 seconds.
Now we can bring you some truly amazing in car footage from one of his stages. Also, the music you can hear is actually playing inside the car! How cool is that?

I’ve driven those roads. They. Are. Brilliant. And what a great car to do it in too. You’d die happy, that’s for sure.
I’m not sure how true the music playing in the car is. The navigator has notes, surely that drum & bass would distract from that and driving at that level.
Makes you wonder what “gentleman jim” would do in a GTR. How ironic, he wins at Bathurst in a Nissan (it is that jim isn’t it?) and 15 years later gets flogged by one. too funny.
If they raced this against Ford and Holden at Bathurst, the Nissan would not win by a matter seconds….. the time between 1st and seconds would be recorded in laps.
@ danman, yes that was back in 1992 when he, JR informed the crowd they were ‘a pack of as*holes’& ‘your a disgrace’ about a gtr beating holden and ford.
A truly great driver of anything and speaks his mind.
Great video, but why did they slow down in the middle of the video? just to give the others a fighting chance? love the man made chicane in the middle of the straight too!!
i met Jim at the F1 GT a couple of years back, he his deserving of his title “Gentleman”. (Golfie has seen proof of that)
Golfie,
i think a lot of people forget a main part of the reason Jim richards and Mark Skaife got “booed” was because they were awarded the win despite being crashed on the side of the track.
in many peoples eyes they DID NOT deserve the win because they were crashed out.
Red flag interventions are always contravercial, and i think that if any other crashed out vehicle had been awarded a win, they would have been booed upon too especially since the first “in one piece” finisher was the favourite/hero Dick Johnson.
Hell,
even Jim himself didnt believe he had won it.
WVB,
as you see, it wasnt purely about a nissan beating a ford or holden

It’s bloody quick isn’t it!
I would love to see the car at Bathurst. Ford and Holden should welcome the battle.

That was one of my favourite Bathurst moments of all time. I would have loved to feel their blood boiling. They deserved it.
