Simple answer is supply. Even though they come out of the same plant there are thousands of Rangers that have been waiting on Ranger specific parts (as a result of the floods etc) so that they can be finished. Now apparently there is a backlog waiting for ships.

Yeah pity its damn ugly to look at compared to its underskin twin the Ford Ranger…
Although i do prefer the interior of the new BT50 over the new Ranger, the mazda designers mustve been on the “happy” pills when they were crafting that happy jappy front end and wierdo rear tailights.
Looking forward to my chilli orange Ranger Wildtrak arriving in June but knowing the way Ford are delivering the ranger it will probably be June 2013!

Ford should have told Mazda not to make this version of the Ranger so awful looking!! I couldnt drive a vehicle that is smiling so stupidly at everything!!! The interior isnt as good as the Ranger either……..

IMHO the interior of the BT50 is nicer and more “car-like” than the Ranger.

its an awesome ute and much better than the boring yanky looking Ranger….
what gets me is that above they say the Ranger was affected by the floods but both the Mazda and Ford come out of the same factory but Mazda can still supply utes…….

I agree it is a fantastic ute better than anyone else has produced, everyone thought the Mazda 3 was ugly to start with however they have outstripped all there rivals in sales. Yes its different its a new look its modern not just same old lines and appearances I for one will buy one soon.
