Lexus LS F Sport sneak peek

An official video from Lexus UK has given us our first look at the facelifted LS in the form of the previously unconfirmed Lexus LS F Sport.

A front-on image of the sports-themed limousine is sneakily embedded in a video of the new Lexus RX450h, which hit the stand at the 2012 Geneva motor show.

From the image we can see the upgraded Lexus LS will feature a bold chrome interpretation of the brand’s aggressive new ‘spindle grille’ as well as revised headlights and a remodelled front bumper.

The LS F Sport gets a diamond-pattern mesh grille and – like the other F Sport variants in the line-up – it’s likely to score a unique headlight design, larger front air intakes, sporty alloy wheels and other sporting tweaks to the chassis, suspension and interior.

Although it’s a low-resolution image, the blue tint around the Lexus badge suggests this is the LS600hL F Sport model. In its current form, the top-spec LS600hL teams a 5.0-litre V8 petrol engine with a hybrid system to produce 327kW of power and 520Nm of torque.

Lexus will almost certainly make the F Sport package available on its non-hybrid LS460 model, which currently generates 280kW and 493Nm from its 4.6-litre V8.

While the image appears in an official Lexus video, the Japanese manufacturer is remaining tight-lipped on its plans for the sporty LS F Sport.

Lexus Australia has made no announcement about an update to its flagship LS line-up at this stage.

Other models will adopt the updated styling in the coming months, however, with the GS, RX and LX ranges all set to be refreshed by midyear.
