i seen this in wheels magazine without the car clothes on. it looks sweet as! the only dow fall i could find was the speedo. it just look a bit weird.

but nothing perfect.

Can I go against the popular grain here, and say… it looks very passe (granted it’s covered in tape etc so it’s true looks are a bit hidden).

This, coming from an SP23 owner. I love my ’05 hatch – funky looking tho a tad under-powered. I was royally disappointed with the look of the 06/07 update; the squarish fog-lights and the change to the sp’s front grill made it look less aggressive. To me, it’s like Mazda’s evolved the 2 and the 6 in positive directions but the 3 looks like going backwards. This one – despite a bigger engine – ain’t floating my boat.

I think I’ll wait for an upper-end alfa mito (should it ever reach Oz) for a new fun hatch.

looks…pretty much like the old one. Not that thats a bad thing, although the wierd bulge at the front never gelled with me.

This is more evolutionary than revolutionary, so it will disappoint those who are looking for radical designs. I think the headlights are meant to extend more towards the bonnet. If you look closely at the 4th and 5th photos, the outlining of the possible headlight shape appears much like the new GTR’s. Knowing that, it appears to look as quite a nice design.

Danman, hate to burst your bubble but the current mazda3 is already built with “ford bits”-susp.,chassis etc. just tuned differently by each brand.

vw freak, ok thanks for that. i wasn’t too clued up on that, yeah it does have the ipod cable now that you mentioned it….not my car, so i don’t want to get too attached to it learning all about it lol….
