Mazda Kiyora concept and new diesel models

Mazda has gone concept crazy, with the brand set to showcase yet another addition to the growing Nagari concept range at the Paris motor show.

This latest instalment is a lightweight next generation urban compact concept dubbed the Kiyora – meaning ‘clean and pure’ in Japanese.

Engineered as a self-proclaimed harmony between driving pleasure and environmental and safety features, the Kiyora debuts Mazda’s long-term technology development vision of “Sustainable Zoom-Zoom”.

It is based on an all-new platform designed to minimise weight and maximise safety, powered by a next-generation four-cylinder direct-injection engine.

Joining the Kiyora concept in Paris will also be three world premieres from Mazda, with the new face lifted MX-5 and two new diesel variants added to the current range.

Mazda’s newly developed MZR-CD 2.2-litre turbo diesel engine will now feature in the Mazda6 line-up whilst the Mazda2 receives a MZ-CD 1.6-liter diesel.

    Mazda are so on it at the moment….art in design. So hangin for some of these concepts to hit the show-rooms. The future :)
    Lovin my current 6 MZR-CD and look forward to update next year. Zoom-Zoom…..lol!!

    Mazda cant seem put a foot wrong lately. Wish i could afford to update to a 3MPS, that thing is an absolute rocket & a blast to drive.

    I believe with the new engine (2.2) it will have an auto gearbox. Rumoured to also be available in the CX-7, hope that is true.
