I’ve had my MX5 for a year now, and I wished I knew this facelift was coming out so I could have waited.

It’s been a fun year though.

For those who need more grunt, get an RX8. Power is not what the MX5 is about.

Just like the previous MX-5s this one does absolutely nothing for me.. infact it looks like a Honda S2000 wannabe – which IMO is a much better car particularly at full noise

Looks good. As others have already commented…now all they need is to slot the 2.3 turbo motor in. Then I’d get one.

One other thing…the photo shows a much smaller gap between the top of the tyres and the wheelarch than the current model. Let’s hope this is a true reflection of the new model and not a photoshop. This gap on the current MX-5 is so large it makes the car look like a 4WD…or perhaps this is Mazda’s version of the Porsche Cayenne?!

Richo, Would be a hoot wouldnt it?! Even the Renesis 13b would allow one to explore the chassis further.

I hope they have tied the rear end down a bit better.

a nice improvement on an already good looking car. I really like the MX5, its such a great little car and so pure. But i do wish it had some more grunt. Imagine this thing with the direct injected turbo 2.3ltr 4 out of the 3 and 6 MPS in it! PHWAAAA that’d be awesome!

Yes, mazda have the best looking cars on the road today IMO that are also well built and very reliable. An MPS version of this would be sweet!

It looks good, it has hints of the BMW roadster and the Honda S2000, if you actually look at the detail of it all.
Goes to show that Mazda likes to keep looking cars on the road and have definately hit a purple patch with the releases of the Mazda 6 and 2 (updated versions) and the 3

What was wrong with the current one? I like to think of the MX-5 as the odd one out in the Mazda family. The one that doesnt need to conform to styling trends. The current one and the previous one and even the original will go down as classics but this just makes it a bit too cheap looking for me. Also, the grill doesnt match the headlights well enough.
