Magna Steyr Mila Coupic concept Geneva preview

Vehicle engineering and manufacturing company Magna Steyr will unveil a new concept at the Geneva show next week called the Mila Coupic.

The Mila Coupic paves the way for a relatively new segment in the industry, offering a two-door soft-top SUV layout. It features an SUV-like front end with a high-riding body, while the sides are bolstered by flexed wheel arches and a high waistline.

Giving it a coupe theme is a sloping roofline that meets at the rear hatch. The main roof panel is mostly made of fabric, peeling back electronically for open-top motoring. The unique roof system can be half opened at either the front or back, while the fabric has been designed with glass elements embedded to provide some transparency and cabin lighting.

Inside are five seats, with the rear seats capable of being folded down to convert the Mila into a small ute. Magna says the rear seats have been designed to seal off and protect the cabin from external elements.

The two-tone fluro 'clash green' paint is poured over a white lower half, and green-painted alloy wheels give the Mila a sporty touch.

More details will be revealed at Geneva on March 6. Click here to read our comprehensive 2012 Geneva motor show preview.
