Nissan Hi-Cross concept previews upcoming X-Trail

Nissan is planning to reveal a new concept SUV called the Nissan Hi-Cross at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show next week. The concept is set to inspire the all-new Nissan X-Trail.

Limited details of the Hi-Cross concept have been revealed at this stage, other than the design details outlined in the teaser video below.

By the looks of it, the Hi-Cross will follow in the footsteps of the new Nissan Pathfinder concept which was unveiled at the Detroit Auto Show earlier this year.

There's lots of flowing lines going on within the exterior design, particularly around the wheel arches. There also seems to be a number of diamond-like shapes seen around the window frame in the C-pillar, and the A-pillar frame.

We also get a glimpse of the instrument cluster on the Hi-Cross concept in the teaser, which shows an aircraft-style layout in green, with a digital vehicle orientation display.

Like the current X-Trail, the upcoming model is likely to come with a range of petrol and diesel engine options, as well as front-wheel and all-wheel drive layouts.

More information is expected to be released at the Geneva unveiling, set for March 6.
