Spied: Audi RS5

By Alborz Fallah |

Audi RS5 Revealed.

When we reviewed the Audi S5 earlier this year we had nothing but good things to say about, plus we have nothing but good things to say about the RS6 either, so when these photos arrived at our office this morning, we took a few moments to take it all in.

Audi RS5

Possibly our new favourite car has been caught hot weather testing on U.S. soil. How do we know its an RS5 and not just an S5? Well, except for the absence of the oval tailpipes – that would make it way too obvious – the car’s front skirt gives the model away as an RS. Plus… the noise.

Once it goes on sale, the production model will be sporting wide, oval dual exhaust outlets – a signature of Audi’s RS series of cars.

Although the car’s front gives it away as an RS5, it remains unclear what powerplant those air-intakes lead cooling to.

Our sources inside Audi indicate that the RS5 will be powered by the same twin-turbo V10 found in the Audi RS6 Avant.

In RS6 guise, the powerplant is good for 426 kW and 650 Nm of torque.

No official word on when the RS5 will debut, but no doubt the BMW M6 has been put on notice!

Audi should pick their owners for this special one, definitely a future classic. Wait hang on, I thought the RS4 was, well maybe the RS5 more so. Definitely a car for the suave!

some people are saying v8, some say supercharged v6!
But imagine the twin turbo v10 from the rs6!
