i watch the brit top gear every monday never missing one show. i cannt waite for the australian one but i hope they test drive high performance all fpv and hsv vehicles also xr and ss series cars and utes as well as smaller cars with proper test drives and not the hum drum stuff of the car show lets get it done with humour, good australian made cars and imports eg bmw,mercs ect like we see on the roads dont put in old bevan cars and dont make it like the car show (stay on sale of the _____ )

With regard to an “Aussie” Stig that will not be possible, because an Australian by nature could not stay anonymous, so the “Aussie” Stig will have to be foreign not necessarily English.

And someone mentioned The Car Show – that is a joke. I watched it for the first and last time a few weeks ago. Half hour show with 4 ad breaks. If they take out the ad breaks then it’s a 15 minute show, but that is the problem with all Australian commercial stations. At least on SBS they follow the British model and have a short ad break every 15 to 20 minutes, and an ad break in between programmes not just before the show finishes or has just started.

I’m really looking forward to the show. I have already submitted my request for tickets.

Though, much like the auditions, I expect not to hear from them.

Sadly, as much as I will still enjoy the show, I agree that it’s not going to be the same as the UK boys. But SBS said that it wasn’t suppose be.

Though, on the same token. Having silly promo ads like they have, it appears this is exactly what they are trying to do. Which means it’ll be a rip off of the UK version and no where near as good. You can’t substitute British humour.

Good luck though, I really do hope we have a show we can actually be proud of. The Car Show was certainly not.

These poor guys, there on a hiding to nothing.
No matter how good it will be, it can never be as good as Clarkson et al.

These guys will never have the charm, whit or humour of Clarkson. Look at their dumb pomos of been lost in a car park trying to work the GPS, how very funny NOT. I just hope they don’t stop airing the UK version for these clowns. Typical Australian crap testing Hummers? PERFORMANCE CARS that’s what we bloody want, not bogan mobiles!
