Volkswagen Beetle Convertible spy photos

With the all-new Volkswagen Beetle set to go on sale in Australia towards the end of this year, the German company is hard at work on the Convertible model.

Although this mule looks very much like the old (although technically 'New') Beetle convertible, it's indeed a prototype of the upcoming Beetle soft-top.

The look of the new Volkswagen Beetle has been a hit worldwide, with its more masculine lines hinting at its ability to attract a more gender-neutral market.

The Golf-based Beetle convertible will add yet another open-top model the company's line-up, which already includes the Golf Cabriolet and Eos. Expect the range of turbocharged petrol and diesel engines to mirror that of the hard-top Beetle hatch.
