Our spy photographers have sent us pictures of a facelifted Kia Sorento undergoing winter testing.

The Kia Sorento, which found more than 2600 buyers in Australia last year, has been a well received SUV worldwide. Although it had many elements of Kia’s new design language, it wasn’t a complete implementation like its smaller brother, the Sportage.

From these photos we can easily spot the LED daytime driving lights in the upper part of the newly designed headlights as well as new front bumper.

The design update will see the Sorento fit in nicely with the current Sportage, Optima and the upcoming Cee’d (which we are told is not coming to Australia).

Kia’s design team has been largely credited with spearheading the Korean company’s turnaround, but with its success comes great expectations and we certainly think this mid-life facelift is bound to produce another good-looking Kia.

On a side note, we were told this Sorento prototype was testing together with an Audi Q5 and Mercedes GLK, which means it’s benchmarked against the best in the industry.
