ive had mine for 9 months and love it, for the price it was the coolest car about, the lotus handling is brilliant. I must admit i back up claims about the keyless entry as being a bit of a pain in the bum. but all in all i love mine

Yeah just got one satria 2009 model neo at 46 thousand kays under$$$ and l think this is a great car for its cost l have driven many cars even though l have a clubby great performance car but l love the proton so anyone that complains should spend more money and buy the expensive little car that drops value as soon as you drive out the gates great design proton thumbs up from me

Had a 2008 Satria GXR brand new and sooo regret selling it(for deposit house).. ive had a 2008 barina since..then bought a Colt 09 Ralliart…and i still miss my Satria
Loved the drive, the enigine note, the handling..

Also….I paid $15k for mine at the time (tinted windows were thrown in). I got $2,500 trade for a car that I thought I would’ve been lucky to get $1,000 for.

I bought mine new in Feb 2009 & am now at 30,000Ks.
I love the car, it handles beautifully & I’ve put some nice wheels on it, so it looks great. Mechanically, it’s been 100% reliable. It starts 1st go easily, every go. Reliability wise, it is completely perfect. I do about 90Ks of mostly highway travel to & from work each day. It drives beautifully on the highway & in the city. I average 6.5 L/per 100Ks. I tend to be a leadfoot too. So very happy with the fuel economy.
My complaints would be: the crap keyless entry, it’s always a relief when it unlocks 1st go (which is seldom). I’ve had it “fixed” at each service, but ah well. Also the interior build quality is not the greatest. It looks really nice & modern. But the plastics are poor. There are still no rattles & all’s OK though (touch wood). It may as well be a 2 seater, because the rear legroom is not existent. You know this before you buy it though. I’ve never had more than 1 passenger in the car at a time anyway. So for me, this is no issue.
I’d feel confident recommending a Satria Neo.
I’d like to hear any other genuine owner’s reviews too.

I have this car Neo just bought 2 weeks ago and run ok now 560kms done, but the idle start not stable not even first services, the water tank has leaked
hope proton australia will fix all this problem for me…

i dont know why the idle not stable and car shake a little bit now after the engine start warmed up everytime at traffic the engine shake a bit coz the idle not stable in 1000rpm, air con or not, its the same…
i think the air from the engine not stable close and open…

the car is really nice, good offer from the dealer….but the engine..????

anyone who bought this car before the price was reduced would be seriously miffed! altho i am not sure how much dealer discount you get on top of the reduced price … i mean this is just the list price … i am sure there is room to haggle! but as many have commented, why would u bother?

I can already see shiny plastics in the picture …

I think this is a great looking little car. A true little hatchback and not a scaled down high riding people mover.
I also hear this thing handles really well, thanks to Lotus.
Shame about Proton’s on going quality problems.
