Lexus RX facelift revealed in leaked brochure images

Images of the Lexus RX facelift from a Japanese brochure have been leaked ahead of the luxury SUV’s anticipated unveiling at the 2012 Geneva motor show in March.

The refreshed RX350 and RX450h models embrace the Japanese brand’s new corporate look, incorporating the striking spindle grille, revised front bumper and LED-infused headlights.

The mid-life model refresh will also bring F Sport variants to the RX line-up for the first time. The performance-oriented models will feature unique exterior styling; sports steering wheel, seats and alloy pedals; and a number of suspension and chassis tweaks.

The upgraded Lexus RX will become the third model to adopt the brand’s new styling direction in Australia in 2012. The RX350 and RX450h are expected to hit local showrooms around the middle of this year, following the arrival of the all-new GS premium sedan and updated LX large luxury SUV in the second quarter.

From the leaked images, we can see the refreshed RX scores new taillights and alloy wheel designs. The interior gets a revised steering wheel and refreshed trims, and appears to get a new rear-seat entertainment option for high-end models.

The Lexus RX is a core model in Lexus Australia’s range. Last year, the brand sold 1758 RXs, which was down 30.6 per cent from the previous year, but still enough to make it the second highest selling model behind the IS250 (1794 units).

Expect more details on the Lexus RX range to be revealed in the lead-up to the Geneva motor show, which starts on March 6.
