Maserati GrandTurismo

Maserati has taken the wraps of the GranTurismo, yes they actually make a car called GranTurismo. Maserati says that the name comes from the partnership between Maserati and Pininfarina (which styled the GranTurismo) who together built a car that is able to generate emotions and which sets itself apart from competitors.

Maserati says that is different due to the technology with which it is built and its unique style.

The beautiful Maserati will make its public debut at the Geneva Motor Show in March before arriving in Australia and New Zealand in early 2008. The GranTurismo is the top of the range Maserati, sitting above the exisiting Maserati GranSport and Spyder sports cars and the Maserati Quattroporte performance sedan.

The Maserati GranTurismo is powered by a 4.2 litre V8 engine, delivering 405 bhp/303 kW, and a weight distribution of 49% at the front and 51% at the rear.

It is fitted with an automatic gearbox (as the trend seems to be with Maserati these days) and equipped with an adaptive control system which adjusts the gear-shifting mode to the driving style and the driving conditions.

The new Maserati GranTurismo represents a further step towards the expansion of the Maserati product range, following the worldwide launch of the Quattroporte Automatic at the 2007 North American International Auto Show in Detroit and which makes its Australian and New Zealand debut in March.
