Lamborghini’s 522kW SUV

Respected Italian car magazine Quattroroute believes Lamborghini might be gearing up to reveal the long-awaited successor to the LM002 off-roader.

According to the report, a spokesperson at Lamborghini’s HQ in Sant’Agata Bolognese, Italy, would neither confirm nor deny if the 522kW SUV – codenamed the LB 736 – will be revealed at the Beijing motor show in April.

Apparently the technical details of the vehicle are contained in the several pages of a leaked document that the Quattroroute obtained.

If the Lamborghini SUV gets the green light, it could pose a problem for Bentley, that other Volkswagen owned brand working on a high-end SUV, which is said to have a price tag in the UK of 150,000 pounds.

Let’s hope they both get up.

    Why?

    • falcongt4me

Maybe Italian soccer mum’s are wanting more exotic vehicles to the kids to school in? The problem I see is that it reduces its exclusitivity and brings it down to mainstream.

    • Jeff

because they can. wouldn’t this just be an Audi SUV underpinnings?

    • Able

Who cares!? What rule says Lamborghini can’t make an SUV?

  • DejaVu

It has Cyclop’s visor on the boot to scare off tailgaters.

    • DejaVu

Everytime you brake it’ll be like, “Optic blast!!”.

On a serious note, the back looks like a Mazda Astina.
The rest of it is fantastic – as impractical as it is, who wouldn’t want one??

      • sam123

Impractical?  Surely the one thing this has that a regualr Lamborghini doesn’t, is some practical application.  Its much more usable and owner friendly.  I think they will poach sales form other Lambo models.

anyone who buys one would be able to afford this and a aventador for the weekend any way

      • Issuakkfi

        Ha “OPTIC BLAST!!”

  • Peanut

I can’t wait to buy one of these and drive it to Cape York

  • Poison Eagle

rear looks like a mazda astina!

  • Devil’s Advocate

The rear roof line is also similar to the BMW X6, without the “Hofmeister Kink” combined with as has been mentioned, the Mazda Astina hatch rear. However there comes a time when there are that many designs out there it is difficult to design something that doesn’t resemble something else somewhere!

At least it looks better than the LM002 did

German car companies (i.e Audi who own Lamborghini) are simply off their heads!

A 522Kw Mum’s taxi SUV? Why not, after all, how else is a well manicured Soccer Mum going to one-up her neighbours in their Twin-turbo V8 386kW Mercedes-Benz ML63 AMG or 400kw twin turbo V8 Cayenne Turbo S?

  • Don

    Err, please..
Forget about the SUV and just make that bloody awesome 4 door coupe!

  • Eric Knutsen

    “long-awaited successor to the LM002 off-roader” LOL

  • Peopl3mova

To those wondering who would buy this, Bentley, when asked why they’re building their W12 SUV, said that they found out that more than 90% of their customers owned an SUV. I imagine lambo customers are much the same. I think we will be surprised by how well this goes

  • Roblee2010

its about time, most lambo owners like me would buy this in a hearbeat, we canot use our Aventador every day to take the kids to school etc its a sunny day supercar but this means i can finally dump the range rover
