Tesla Model X set for February unveiling

Tesla has released a teaser image of the upcoming Tesla Model X crossover. The all-new fully electric model will be unveiled at the company's design studio in California on February 9.

Few details of the Model X have been revealed so far, however, the new SUV is expected to offer high levels of zero-emission performance matched with a sporty exterior and a luxurious cabin.

Late last year, the new model was revealed to a select group of investors. Some of the investors then tweeted about their experience, praising the vehicle, saying it would compete in the market with the likes of the Porsche Cayenne and Audi Q7.

From the teaser image, we can see the new crossover will showcase curvy front-end styling with a sweeping roofline blending down into the windscreen. The nose seems to feature similar contours to the Model S sedan, with a pronounced snout grille and bonnet bulges leading to the headlights.

The Model X will become one of the world's first mainstream production all-electric SUV when it launches approximately in late 2013.
