2010 Hyundai Portico 6-seater spy photos
August 18, 2008 by Alborz Fallah
One of our many spy photographers recently arrived at this top-secret testing area at 3am in the morning, he told us his aim was to get some sleep till around 7am and wait for the cars to show up, but instead, he caught the very first pictures of Hyundai’s all-new 2010 6-passenger Portico crossover.

First shown as a 2005 concept in Chicago, Hyundai is hoping its R-Class-like crossover will fill all the niches where Mercedes and Chrysler’s Pacifica failed.

Flexible seating for the Portico means two rows of seating with seating for 4 or 6 – depending if the centre seat is folded down or upright.

With six passengers in two rows – the Portico will offer more cargo area than similarly sized vehicles.

The Portico is expected to be offered with a V6, as well as with a hybrid powertrain, and will be built in Alabama.

Hyundai Australia has not announced any plans to bring the Portico here, however depending on its success in the United States, there is a possibility of this six-seater making its way to our side of the world.

Meanwhile… Did ‘your’ photographer see the black car next to the Portico (back is visible in the last photo)? It has Tiburon wheels on it (so it must be a Hyundai) and looks like a 4 door sedan. Could it be the new i40 (Sonata replacement)?
I would have preferred to see photos of that car (Hyundai’s legacy car) rather than another people mover!
Is it Frugal One who is always on the look out for a car with a bench seat?
Well if it is all you need now is a LPG conversion and F-O can be in 7th heaven.
Looks like Hyundai are building their range like Toyota with a car in every class and in between.
Milsie that is actualy the new kia l;uxury car.To be built on the same platform as the granduer
Has a sporty appearance doesn’t it? It’s going to replace the Trajet XG which has been on sale like forewer (about 8 year I think).
Hopefully, there will be a diesel engine fitted under the hood!
