Spied: Cadillac CTS Coupe interior
August 15, 2008 by George Skentzos
We have already reported earlier on spy shots of the new Cadillac CTS Coupe, however this time around our photographers managed to catch a glimpse of its interior.
The coupe version is speculated to carry the CTC namesake when it eventually hits production in May next year alongside the CTS sedan at the Lansing Grand River Plant in the U.S.
To counter the inherent poor rear visibility, the Coupe version will feature a reversing camera which is not currently found on the sedan.
It also deletes the traditional door grab in favour of a new touch pad set up instead.
The overall design closely mimics the concept on which it is based, right down to the centre-exiting dual exhausts.

other then the fancy pants door release i’m not sure how big a deal it is to see the interior given that its identical to the CTS sedan.. but anyway i think this is a fanTAStic looking vehicle, superbly finnished interior. “But its not german” will be the cry from the eurofanboys but for me thats half the attraction! buying something that isnt the “default choice” like a 3 series, A4 or C class, something with a bit of individuality and a bit of “stuff off” presence about it. I like it, don’t expect others too, but thats half of what makes it so good!
Nah Richo – I was very bit impressed with the interiors of the Caddies I sat in at the London Motor show. I even had visions of me winding down highway 1 with me arm our the window enjoying the drive. Could never buy one personally – No diesel.
Driver looks a bit close to the wheels or the pedals are too close. It may just be the picture though.
Id prefer the wagon version that is coming out. Stylish, practical but hard to see out of for a wagon.
Fair enough No Name, but you realise with the price differential here in australia between petrol and diesel that the sums just don’t stack up.. it may use less fuel, but its no cheaper in your hip pocket.
Don’t believe me? Do the sums for yourself. A good direct injected V6 in a large sedan will yield about 10ltr per 100km. A diesel in a large sedan around 7ltr per 100km. At a 20c price differential, if you travel 15,000km a year you will save just $465 per annum. Really not nearly enough given you have to pay a minimum of an extra $2000 to get the diesel in the first place. Add to this the fact that petrol engines are inherantly smoother and have superior NVH characteristics and you really have to start wondering why it works… Well i can tell you why it works in europe, because diesel is actually cheaper then petrol over there. But here in australia where diesel is an extra 20c over petrol it just don’t stack up!
Diesel’s are a false economy thanks to the stupidity of the Australian Government in allowing diesel prices to move so high compared to petrol prices. Given Krudd is so keen to be green, why doesn’t he embrace the cleaner fuel, which diesel is, and through cutting of the diesel excise make it cheaper or atleast the same price as petrol which will give people a REAL incentive to make the switch.
Sorry to get soo off topic, back to the caddy! What a good looking car…
acfsambo – haha i think the driver might just be a bit of a boomba!
Yeah he look like he is going to steer with his knees!!
Well at least the Ugly interior is a perfect match for the Ugly Exterior – thereby maintaining the Cadillac tradition of Ugly…. Ugly…. Ugly
my first thought was how can this guy be comfortable driving this.
its how i feel jumping into the mrs’s car before i roll the seat back.
Richo,
how much cleaner are diesels??
not really that much cleaner.
diesel is the dirtiest fuel. it is only that consumption is less, that we see less co2 per 100ks.
if the government is serious about subsidising a cleaner fuel, why dont they subsidise LPG, or even throw big carrots to manufacturers to put out a highly advanced LPG model.
LPG emissions contain something like 98% less particulates than what diesel emissions contain.
no hang on,
i get it,
there isnt as much money to be made from LPG………
silly me thinking the government would put real issue above revenue
when i first looked into the picture, seat seems to close to the wheel or probably it is me. i am impressed with the engine specs and i think this is a good choice including Cadillac CTS Sedan and Cadillac CTS Coupe considering the price against its counterparts
