2012 Mercedes-Benz A-Class teased in competition video

Want a free trip to the 2012 Geneva motor show for the unveiling of the 2012 Mercedes-Benz A-Class? Mercedes-Benz has launched a new competition that could get you there. The catch is you'll need to be in Germany over the next couple of months.

Mercedes-Benz has launched a competition called the A-Class QR-Trophy. Interested show-goers first need to download a smart phone app of the same name, and then spot up to four A-Class prototypes that will be touring the streets of Germany over the next two months.

Each prototype will feature a QR code imprinted on the side. It's then a matter of using your smart phone to capture the code. If you're lucky enough to spot all four A-Classes and collect each code, you'll go in the running for a free trip to the Geneva show.

In a recent promotional video explaining the competition (in German), Mercedes-Benz also gave us all a glimpse of the all-new A-Class hatch. Although it is painted in disorienting camouflage, the overall proportions and size are revealed.

The new A-Class will be a conventional hatchback, as opposed to the outgoing A-Class which offers taller MPV styling. Mercedes-Benz is hoping to directly tackle the Volkswagen Golf, Audi A3 and BMW 1 Series with the new model.
