Hi i have a vs clubsport v8 it has a new motor, new radiator. my problem is when the car is sitting still the temp gauge goes to 3/4 then when i start driving it goes down to a 1/4 when it hits 3/4 i can smell like a burning smell but its not boiling or losing water and the engine isnt making the gurgle sound it makes when it is over heated.when i go to check the raditor its full but the over flow is empty. i have a 15/100kpa radiator cap on it is that the right cap for this motor?

Can anyone tell me please, the calculation for assessing the increase in the boiling point of water at an incremental 1lb of pressure as a radiator cap would exert. My best info is 2.75 degrees F Per 1lb, is this on the money? Thanks for any help, Mike Holland.
