Cadillac One – the President’s new ride!

August 11, 2008 by George Skentzos

A snapshot of the opened rear door – estimated to be almost 8-inches thick – reveals just part of the simply staggering level of protection designed into this one-off special.

Cadillac One - the President’s new ride!

Weighed down by so much armour, bullet proof glass and every other go-go gadget imaginable, it is powered by a rather large diesel engine – apparently with an exhaust note quick similar to the accompanying Topkick trucks.

    *****PRIMO!*****

    Niceeeeeeeee

Good against say pistols and small mm firearms.

NO chance against .50cal and say a tank…

    Ciao

    M

  2. Ra says:

Becuase so many people are out for the Presidents blood…

What does this tell me though? That American made Cadillac’s are built so bad you need to spend a few million to make them good :)

  3. Bavarian Missile says:

Gee if they hoping to blend into the crowd they ain’t going to succeed cause everyone will be pointing at the most ugly car thats graced the USA’s roads,oh and the rear door estimate of 8 inches,a guy must of done that cause I know what eight inches looks like hehehe but just to test the thickness can we stick George in the back and have a test run ,anyone got a sniper riffle?

  4. Mister Two says:

Will this vehicle be passed to the new president in November or will Dubya be able to keep it? He should probably keep it as he will be a bigger target than the new president, whoever it turns out to be.

  5. alec says:

Who ever took these photos is brave….
With all the anti-terrorism laws in the states, they could easily say the photgrapher was researching a target!!!

  6. Richo says:

good point alec, dunno if i would have been game enough to do it! Especially the photo of the door.. could have landed him in deep shite!

  7. Golfschwein says:

Look at the A-pillars on the thing! It’s an armored truck designed to look like a car, the article says. I can see why!

  8. Bucket (Formerly Known as Chris) says:

Considering he isn’t around for much longer….Will Obama even need that?? Assuming Obama wins :)

  9. Bollinger says:

Surely with all their fervour about hybrids (Escalade hyvrid anyone?!) The big fella could be driven around in one of those…

  10. phillip says:

“Well now that we have ruined the surprise – because of course the President is an avid reader..”

Damn! He can read now? When did that happen?

  11. Phill says:

So the car world leaders are driven around in has a direct link to there statis on the world stage(Bush in his armored cadillac). Ah thats why Kevin 07 wants to drive prius Hybrids.Ha Ha

  12. No Name says:

Not exactly inconspicuous. What happens when he gets out into open air. Bang!
Long live America.. (just did that bit to satisfy the CIA folk watching) ;)

  13. upshift says:

    Wow!
What a fun build that would be. It has a truck ‘I’ beam steer axle with lowered stub axles , truck steering linkages, truck chassis, truck tyres and a truck leaf spring rear end.

… ‘So is it the new Blues Mobile or what’ ?

That is definitely a fortified Cadillac body grafted onto a truck with a very healthy engine amongst other things. I would have built a Corvette version.

  14. GARY SAMUEL says:

WAY COOL I WANT ONE OF THEM WITH THE AMOUNT OF PEOPLE I PEEVE OFF EACH DAY JUST FOR BEING ME. I DONT SAY A WORD AND I GET ABUSED, IM A WHINGING POM, HEY HAVE YOU EVER HEARD A POM HAVE A HAPPY WHINGE.? WELL NOW YOU HAVE…

    COOL CAR

  15. bullet proof says:

This presidental Caddy is bangin. Ain’t no way any shots will hit it’s mark inside this Beast. Considering president Bush’s Beast (2000 armored Caddy Limo) was only made of 5 inch thick armor, this new one is 8 inches thick. I don’t know what you’re talkin bout, but this Beast will easily stop a .50 cal. The old Beast could stop a .50 cal plus it was bomb proof as well, not to mention Goodyear’s run flats. Check you’re facts “Frugal One” the president is safe anywhere in this Caddy they call the Beast. Oh yeah, I almost forgot this car ain’t suppose to be inconspicous, it represents the power and seriousness of America.

  16. jasmassen says:

man i wish i had that. its really cool
