Rolls-Royce: New Cars 2012

The Rolls-Royce Ghost EWB (extended wheelbase) will further expand the British luxury brand's range in Australia, joining the regular-wheelbase Ghost and the flagship Phantom.

ROLLS-ROYCE GHOST EWB

Vehicle type: Luxury car. Timing: Q1

The Rolls-Royce Ghost EWB will feature, as the name suggests, an extra 170mm between the front and rear axles over the standard Ghost to provide even more rear leg room for high-end executives and celebrities. Pampering appointments include climate control and DVD controls mounted on an extended centre console.

Up front will sit a 6.6-litre twin-turbo V12 producing 420kW of power and 780Nm of torque. It helps the land yacht accelerate from 0-100km/h in 5.0 seconds, which is certainly not bad for a very large 2395kg sedan (up 35kg from the normal Ghost). Prices are expected to start at around $750,000, putting a premium of about $105,000 on extra leg room when compared with the $645,000 regular Ghost.
