Bentley teases its new V8 engine

Bentley has released a short video teaser of its forthcoming V8 which will find its way under the bonnet of the volume seller of the brand, the Continental GT.

Bentley has usually reserved V8s for its flagship models - Arnage, Azure, Brooklands, etc - but next year a 4.0-litre V8 will debut, and while power and torque figures haven't been released, the video does demonstrate what the new V8 sounds like. Given the current W12 isn't exactly a symphonic great, it's heartening to know the V8 brings a decent soundtrack to the Continental range.

Whether it will use forced induction is still up for debate, with some touting the fact that this will be an "entry level" Bentley and so wouldn't want to cannibalise sales of the W12 model. Others point to the fact that all current Bentleys are turbocharged, and this will be no different.

How well are your ears trained? Let us know in the comments below whether you think this sounds like a turbocharged V8, or a naturally aspirated variant.
