Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG Black Series: fastest C-Class sold out

The Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG Coupe Black Series may ask buyers to stump up an extra $90,200 over the ‘regular’ C63 two-door but that hasn’t stopped the $245,000 high-performance model from selling out before it arrives.

The German car maker today announced that all 32 units of the latest Black Series model allocated for Australia had been accounted for before the fastest C-Class available lands in April 2012.

AMG models have always been popular in Australia with performance buyers, and

Mercedes-Benz’s general manager of passenger car sales, Richard Emery, says the company expected to sell all 32 models though not less than a month after pricing was announced.

“I can’t say I’m surprised but we’re certainly overwhelmed by the quick response,” says Emery. “We’ll continue to work with AMG to secure more vehicles as not only have we sold out of our C63 AMG Coupe Black Series allocation, but we now have a wait list.

“At this stage we don’t know how many more we can secure, but I know the number of additional vehicles won’t be high due to global demand.”

The C63 AMG Coupe Black Series is powered by a 380kW 6.2-litre V8 and can accelerate from 0-100km/h in 4.2 seconds.
