Lexus IS F Circuit Club Sport kit coming to Tokyo show
Lexus is getting ready to unveil the TRD Circuit Club Sport kit for the Lexus IS F at the 2011 Tokyo Motor Show. The kit was first unveiled at the 2010 Tokyo Motor Show as a concept, but it is now ready for the market in Japan.
Looking a little bit like Lexus's answer to the BMW M3 GTS, the Lexus Circuit Club Sport pack comes with a range of track-focused lightweight options and replacement parts. The original 5.0-litre V8 engine under the bonnet remains unchanged.
Obvious features include a big carbon fibre rear wing and carbon fibre front winglets at each corner of the bumper bar. There's also a full carbon fibre bonnet with venting, and a carbon fibre boot and rear splitter.
Overall weight is said to have dropped from the standard mass of 1700kg, improving the IS F's power-to-weight ratio and overall track performance. Also helping with performance is a lightweight exhaust system, sportier suspension, bigger brakes and a TRD limited-slip differential.
Unfortunately, the TRD kit won't be coming to Australia any time soon, but it does give the IS F plenty of potential as a more serious Mercedes-Benz C 63 AMG Coupe Black Series and BMW M3 GTS rival. Would you like to see it go on sale Down Under?
