Holden pulls radio sponsorship after Kyle Sandilands outburst

Holden has pulled its sponsorship of the Kyle and Jackie O breakfast radio show in response to controversial co-host Kyle Sandilands' verbal attack on a female journalist on Tuesday.

Sandilands (pictured below) launched into an on-air tirade against News Limited journalist Alison Stephenson on his Sydney 2Day FM show after the deputy entertainment editor of News.com.au wrote a story about how fans has used Twitter to describe the duo's Night with the Stars Monday evening TV program as a disaster.

Holden released a statement this afternoon confirming its withdrawal of advertising from the show.

"Recent comments made on the Kyle and Jackie O breakfast show do not in any way reflect the views or opinions of Holden and we are very disappointed to hear Kyle's personal attack on a journalist.

"We believe the show is no longer in line with Holden's core values and as a result we have taken action to withdraw our sponsorship of the program, effective immediately."

Sandilands’ derogatory comments included attacks on Stephenson's job and physical appearance, threatening to “hunt her down”.

Electrical goods store The Good Guys has joined Holden in withdrawing its support of the Kyle and Jackie O show as a result of shock jock Sandilands' latest brush with controversy.
