Aside from his world-renowned fashion label, American designer Ralph Lauren is also known for his abundant car collection consisting of over 70 modern supercars and exotic classics. Scale models based on four of his cars have been recreated and are now available for purchase.
Just four of his personal favourites were selected for the model car collection, including his 1958 Ferrari 250 Testa Rossa, $40 million 1938 Bugatti 57 SC Atlantic Coupe, McLaren F1 LM, and his $25 million 1960 Ferrari 250 GTO.
To recreate each model, digital scans of the real cars had to be taken, which allowed the makers to get the attention to detail down to one-tenth of a millimetre. The models took up to 3000 painstaking hours to put together.
This is said to be the first time Lauren has allowed his car collection to be recreated in this form, providing a rare opportunity to for avid collectors. The models are encased and placed on a custom designed Ralph Lauren podium.
As one would expect, the 1:8 models don’t come cheap. Prices start at $9500 each. The models can be purchased from the brand’s official website, just in time for Christmas…
