Toyota adds LandCruiser 70 Series to capped price servicing program

Toyota Australia has extended its capped-price servicing program to the LandCruiser 70 Series, thus covering every vehicle in its range.

Toyota adds LandCruiser 70 Series to capped price servicing program

All LandCruiser 70 Series sold with a July 2008 service plate are now eligible to receive up to six capped price scheduled services for a cost of no more than $250.

However any additional unscheduled servicing for vehicles subjected to heavy usage and harsh driving conditions are not covered under the program, which is limited to three years or 60,000 kilometres of driving.

“Although LandCruiser 70 Series is a workhorse and designed to handle heavy loads, it still endures more wear and tear than other Toyota vehicles, making $250 per service a great saving.”

Toyota estimates that over the six scheduled services, this will amount to a saving of $1528 for LandCruiser 70 Series owners - including GST.

“It’s reassuring, in this time of high petrol prices and on-road vehicle costs, for drivers to know what standard scheduled servicing costs they will incur over the next three years, or 60,000 kilometres, right from the outset of buying a vehicle,” Mr Callachor said.”

The locally manufactured Toyota Camry and Aurion are limited to just four standard scheduled services under the capped price scheduled servicing, while all other Toyota vehicles receive six standard scheduled services.

another nail in the coffin of the dealers service deptments

Toyota withhold the $ - they the dealer has to claim it back each time the car is serviced

the sucker customer just doesnt reliase they paid for the service when they bought the car - and all the collect $ sit in Toyotas bank account

    O What a rip off - Toyota

i guess to get full benefit of this you have to absolutely trash your motor so it blows up so you can get a v8 diesel for $250.

    60,000klm warranty for a 65k ute.

    130,000klm warranty for a 15k Getz.

Toyota certainly are confident that the 70 series will go the distance.LOL.

WILL THE CAR BUYING PUBLIC EVER WAKE UP?

It might be alright offering this service but try buying a new 70 series right now. My local dealer said there was at “least” an 8 month waiting list for a new Troopy if you place your order today. I mean, who wants to wait around 8 months for a vehicle period, not many. Having said that, the dealer mentioned the delay was because the 70 series was so popular & Toyota Australia cannot keep up supply. I do believe that as I think the 70 series with the new V8 T/D engine is a winner & I would buy one tomorrow providing I did not have to wait about 8 months for it.

    Cheers !

Hey Lightbulb, I waited 6 months for my prado arrive, even though i was told it was gonna take only 4 months… But according to the Prado forum there are certain people waiting up to 9 months… I have heard, that some mines have even resorted to buying second hand landcruisers.

realcars toyota warranty is 100,000km or 3 years and if you ask anyone who owns a toyota (unlike your daewoo) they will always stand buy there product even when out of warranty UNLIKE HYUNDAI,DAEWOO AND OTHERS! i know of a guy who waited 11 months for a 70 series wagon with diff locks but was happy to do so because in his words “nothing else comes close to it”

and realcars when your daewoo is broken on the side of the road at 45,000kms the 70 series will drive over it another 300,000kms before you even need to take the heads of it!

    Realcars,
Actually a “standard” service for a 70 series is averages about $500 - so this is half price servicing for the first 60,000 km.
“Lucky” Corolla owners will pay $120 in stead of $200 and save a “massive” $80.

Question: Are all Toyotas still limited to 10,000km service intervals??

Question 2: What are the service intervals for other makes/models?

  10. OH WHAT A FEELING! Says:

  11. panelcopy Says:

YEAP THEY ARE ALL 10000KM or 6 months - most other makes are 15000km or 12 months - so the cheap service only brings it back to the same as other makes - funny that

oh and dont expect to get the cheap service if u are a bit late getting to it - they wipe u for being late and u have to pay full price - even though u actually paid for the service when u purchased the car

    oh what a rip off
