Vygor Opera details released

A new Italian sports car manufacturer called Vygor has released details of its first models: the Vygor Opera.1 and Opera.2. The sports SUV coupes use the running gear from a Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution, and present, surely, a body design that's up there with the worst of them.

The Vygor Opera.1 will come with an "aggressive and original" personality, and the Opera.2 will showcase an "elegant and exclusive" makeup. Both versions are dissected into three different trim levels: the 'All Road’ will come with an off-road-ready 245/60R18 wheel and tyre package, the middle-ground ‘Easy’ trim with a 255/35R20 wheel and tyre package; and the ‘Extreme’ with a 255/30R22 wheel and tyre setup.

All versions of the Vygor Opera will be powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine connected to an all-wheel drive driveline. Vygor will offer three different power outputs: 224kW, 260kW and 313kW.

Vygor says the Opera will be able to do 0-100km/h in times ranging from 5.9 seconds to 4.9 seconds. All versions will tip the scales at a rather sporting (for an SUV coupe) 1580kg.

Vygor is planning to put just 150 examples onto the market, with prices starting at a fairly hefty 140,000 euro ($186,000). Perhaps the biggest question is: will Vygor will be able to sell 150 of them?
