Finally an educated poster. The current Carnival is a bloody good car for its intended purpose and there is simply nothing on the road for the ptice that offers such function in a people mover. That is why it outsells the rest. Talk to current owners of the hyundai powered V6 and they love their cars.

It annoys the crap out of me that people must continually trudge up history when relating to new cars. There is a thread regarding the rover engined models. Go post there if you have a gripe.

Own a Carnival EX model 3.8L since Nov.08 in Dubai. Done about 30,000 kms so far and going strong. Engine purrs like a cat on city roads and growls like a tiger on motor ways. Many nice features incl audio aux in jack, USB port, charger in front and rear, third row seats that dissapper under teh floor, speed dependednt volume control, lots of leg room, lots of boot space, .... A great vehicle indeed.

We have one as a family car (grand carnival 3.8L ex auto) and the standing start acceleration is not what you would call slow. it is feels faster than a territory tx rear wheel drive, has more seats and a bigger boot with all the seats up, looks a bit better (from the front, in my opinion) and has 1 more gear. the only niggle i have with it is the intrusive road noise. it is sometimes unbearable.

Hi Kerry
I cannot comment on the Kia but a few months ago bought a 2.5l turbodiesel Hyundai iMax. It has 8 seats and still plenty of space in the back (keep in mind overseas this model has a fourth row and is sold as a 12 seater). I recommend test driving one of these as well as the Kia. We love our one, drives well and if you are lucky will find one second hand like we did for a great price.

We are looking for a people mover and were keen on the Tarago until we discovered the 3rd row tumble seat (we have to fit in a wheelchair). We went to the 6cyl which are hard to find but discovered they only have a cream interior (not good with 3 boys in the country). That left the Kia as we needed 3 seats in the second row. We are currently looking at the Grand Carnival 2.9l diesel. Does anyone have any feedback on these vehicles.
