Ssangyong Australia cuts price of Kyron, Rexton, Stavic

Ssangyong Australia is offering big savings on a number of its cars from now until the end of the year. Prices of the Kyron, Rexton and Stavic base models (those equipped with the five-speed manual transmission) are down by up to $6588.

The Ssangyong Stavic people mover enjoys the biggest savings. The seven-seater is now priced from $29,990 driveaway, making it one of the cheapest people movers in Australia. The Stavic comes standard with 16-inch alloy wheels, front fog lights, reverse parking sensors and climate control. The standard safety package includes electronic stability control but only two airbags, which is disappointing for a family car.

The Ssangyong Stavic is powered by a 2.7-litre five-cylinder diesel engine with 121kW of power and 340Nm of torque. The manual model has a combined cycle fuel consumption of 8.8 litres/100km.

The Ssangyong Rexton scores a $5688 reduction, bringing the price of the seven-seat SUV down to $34,990 driveaway. The Rexton uses the same engine as the Stavic, producing identical power and torque figures, but burning slightly more fuel (9.2 litres/100km combined).

The Rexton is fitted with 18-inch alloy wheels, roof rails, climate control, leather-wrapped steering wheel and an audio system with AUX and USB connectivity for MP3 playback. It comes standard with electronic stability control and four airbags (dual front and side).

The base model Ssangyong Kyron is now available from $28,990 – a saving of $2201. The all-terrain four-wheel drive is powered by a 104kW/310Nm 2.0-litre diesel engine that uses 7.3 litres/100km on the combined cycle.

The Kyron is equipped with 18-inch alloy wheels, chrome-tipped exhaust, manual air conditioning and 60:40 split flat-folding rear seats. Like the Stavic, the Kyron’s safety package includes electronic stability control and just two airbags, although front and rear side curtain airbags can be fitted as an option.

On top of the price cuts, the Ssangyong Actyon Tradie Ute is now available from $24,990 driveaway, while the $27,990-driveaway Korando S manual compact SUV gets a two-year warranty extension, taking it to five-years/100,000km.
