Video: BMW flaunts race-bred M3

July 15, 2008 by George Skentzos

BMW has sent the race bred version of its latest-generation M3 around the track for its maiden drive.

The brand is preparing to make its return to the American Le Mans Series (ALMS) since the E46 M3 GTR was pulled from the event following homologation violations due to its V8 engine as all M3’s boasted straight-six’s at the time.

I’d love to work on a car like this one day… *drools.

Here in the states you can own one (a road version of course) for 60K USD….. tsk tsk.

Maybe I should stay here permanently and invest on one..2? hehe

  2. Camski says:

Yup we pay more than double for the M3.

Imagine the video’d one with the road going M3 engine but everything else left as you see it, wide body kit and all.
That would be a very interesting sort of M3 CSL+ :p

  3. Bavarian Missile says:

Gee gone for 2 days and I miss this, anyone got a bib?

Good to see them back,I imagine they again will be back to their best with the 4th generation of M3s and continue their winning legacy ,having won 6 of the last 9 Championships.485 hp in a little over 1000 kgs ,got to love the power to weight . Would like to see the Nissan GTR enter the competition, that would make some great racing to watch!

  4. Brett says:
