hi i'm Yancy from the Philippines..
we bought a 2007 M/T actyon coupe.. powered by a 2.3L Mercedes Benz engine..
for two years encounting, we have not experienced any engine trouble... ofcourse it is Casa Maintained.. and it is still under warranty.
our actyon still performs at its brand new condition after 2 years!
we did not expect this kind of performance from a vehicle made from Ssangyong.. we thought it would be beaten by CRV's and Xtrail's..but with it's new look and outstanding performance, it Stands-out! and think to think about it, its engine is a real Mercedes-Benz 2.3L petrol.. the engine itself gives us outstanding quality and effortless power! giving us sheer confidence on driving our actyon..

i would rate this vehicle as 9 out of 10..
i strongly recommend the Ssangyong Actyon as the best Sports Utility Coupe!! :-)

I live in the philippines and need feedbacks on this actyon coupe 2.3 crdi A/T, local dealers unsure if the model that they market has ESP and HDC. Also on fuel efficiency and off road capability, contemplating to get one.

You see the grill coming towards you like a huge hairy female part. That's enough to turn a bloke gay.
Ssangyong now in receivership.
They seem determined to make the ugliest cars ever. Now they and the owners are going to pay the price.

Hi
I am living in Malaysia for the moment and just bought an Actyon Sport equivalent to the top of the range in Oz which I hope to ship back when I return to Oz.
What a wonderful car compared to my previous Toyota Hi-Lux diesel. Does 180km/h on the moterway with same ease it pulls through the jungle tracks. What I particular like is the wide wheel base compared to the Japanese 4x4 and the wonderfull diesel engine pulling through the new 6 speed gearbox.
I had a sports lid fitted on the tray and it looks absolutly stunning
Cheers

I own 3 Ssangyongs. A 2008 SV270 Stavic Auto, great MPV. I wouldn't have any other. The Actyon sports ute 2007 with Aluminium tray. Be careful here, it does have a payload of around 800Kg but that's overall, the back (cargo area) can't take more than 460 Kg. If you don't believe check out the specs in smotor.com . Ssangyong are working on a solution through a suspension company for me using airbags. Having said that all Dualcabs have the same problem and I'm not phased by this. It drives like a dream, I'll never look back. I've just bought the coupe 2007 200xdi. I was going to buy a A230, but I felt that something was wrong. Maybe if it had a turbo it would have been ok, the vehicle weighs close to 2 tonne! As I read in one review, "the E230 Mercedes engine was not designed for a vehicle weighing close to 2 tonne". I found myself wondering when the extra power was going to kick in as was my experience with the diesel. Then 4 litres more consumption per 100Km compared to the diesel made it an unpalatable option. I love my Ssangyongs, I was considering getting a Musso at one stage as well but it's a slug, boy am I glad I don't own one of those!

We purchased the Ssangyong Actyon Petrol model in January 08. We love it, looks good, goes well, gets comments every where we go on its styling.
I used it to pull a fully loaded Nissan Patrol out of the sand a few weeks ago. He was bogged to his belly pan. I never thought my little motor would make a difference to him. I was shocked when the Ssangyong pulled him out with ease, low range and just drove of towing him backwards.
Off road we have done very little with it but some of it quite rough. The Actyon takes it in its stride never looking like getting stuck in the sand ever.
I love the finish being a bit basic inside, we came from a luxury style interior I costantly spent my life nagging the kids not to mark it. Now I have an easy to clean and maintain vehicle.
I tow big loads with it regularly and while it is no race winner we never find the vehicle to be struggling to pull the load.
Handling is not spritely but hey I'm 46 years old what do I care, if you want real performance get a motorbike.
The boot is small but we knew that before we brought it and decided we could live with that.
As a family car that looks good let's us go out in the bush camping then is readily turned around to handle my job as a photographer and carry my clients around its just perfect. We are a very active family of four on the move constantly this car works for us and was purchased at a price we could achieve.
Fuel economy is not great but its manageable.
Are we happy....YOU BET...

I own an Actyon coupe.
- Fuel economy in the city is about 9.5 km/liter, highway - depends, but it is more of course.
- Turbo lag is there, but it\'s depends on how picky you are. In my opinion it is not excessive.
- overall perfomance is good - for an SUV, takes corners with a bit of a body roll, however due to being wider - there\'s less body roll than on other higher trucks.
- It\'s shaky, the suspension is a bit stiff, can feel most bumps and cracks, but given that it\'s rigid - it will most likely live longer.
- It\'s put together well. Mine\'s gone 45,000 km, so it has a bit of creaking going on, mostly in the salon if I put some pressure on certain parts, but overall seems to be holding up well.

To Co

Hi Im Bob Arroyo. Can you possibly give me feedback on your Actyon diesel. I am seriously considering purchasing one (the blue one) and would like to know the following :

1. fuel economy city ___ and highway ____
2. turbo lag? I read in one post that it is quite excessive
3. over-all performance taking into account smoothness of ride, shakes, rattles
4. how is the quality of the materials used - does the interion stand-up well to daily use?

Did you encounter any problems so far? How long have you had the Actyon?

I would appreciate hearing from you - my email address is bobarroyo@yahoo.com

Thanks for the help.

Regards

I just bought one, the limited model 4wd diesel. it is great, and looks good to boot. a big selling point for me was that it is the ONLY dual cab that will fit in a standard size home garage!!! all you guys with navaras or similar eat your heart out while your pride and joy sits on the driveway because its too long to fit in your garage!

I just bought one 2, a petrol version and with only mostly highway driving the fuel economy is shocking about 10 litres above what they quote for 100 kms, approached the dealer and they simply state that after 15000kms the economy will improve??

Haha,
yes I agree,

SsangYong are definitely bold in their designs, they want to stand out big time and so far, they have, but for all the wrong reasons,

the people mover taxis that are now using the SsangYong Stavic are just so ugly I almost can't look at them,

I really think once they get it right, they are going to be on the money, because as you said, the current designs are just so boring and repetitive and you just need something new and out there

I think Wiggles have a resonable good case to ask for royalties from SsangYong, since the inspiration for the design of the car was a Wiggle car. Joke aside, SsangYong has the guts to make their cars totally different to the rest and a lot of buyers like to have something different. Others tend to play it safe when it comes to car designs so today we have 4-5 soft roaders on the market that all look kinda similar.
