Holden has announced the new 2012 Holden Commodore Special Edition Equipe, featuring $9500 worth of added extras, including leather trim, alloy wheels, and a reversing camera.

The new Series II Commodore Equipe is available in sedan and Sportwagen form, based on the 3.0-litre SIDI V6. The Special Edition comes with new 18-inch alloy wheels, a reverse parking camera, leather upholstery and wrapped steering wheel, fog lights, a slightly revised front grille with chrome highlights, matching chrome instrument cluster surrounds, and Equipe badging.

It also comes with standard equipment such as Holden’s touchscreen Holden-iQ system, Bluetooth/USB and iPod compatibility, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), Electronic Brake Assist (EBA), Traction Control System (TCS), and six airbags.

Like the normal Holden Commodore fitted with the 3.0-litre SIDI V6, the Special Edition Equipe offers 190kW of power and 290Nm of torque. It comes with an average fuel consumption rating of 8.9L/100km, and is able to run on 85 per cent ethanol thanks to its flex-fuel technology.

Holden executive director of sales and marketing, John Elsworth, recently said the new Special Edition Equipe will help to bolster the already-successful Holden Commodore sales in Australia. He said,

“The MY12 update to Commodore has made a great car even better, and now the Special Edition Equipe models introduce a raft of fantastic extra equipment including a rear view camera. At such a competitive price we expect it to be a winner in our showrooms.”

The 2012 Holden Commodore Special Edition Equipe is now on sale, with drive away prices starting at $36,990 for the sedan and $38,900 for the Sportwagen. Prices include prestige paint.

  • Kane Alto

So what? Id rather a Eco LPI Falcon.

    • Charger

Yeah get that Taxi experience every time you drive

      • Bangel

My Golf gti with 188kw and 400nm is much better than any crummer ever made.
Except i’m best friends with Barry, the resident VW tow truck driver. He is always busy towing my POS.

        • gmh-bogan

Any Hsv easliy out classes your Rolf in design ,handling and performance.SSV also does+if you drive a Holden theres no need for Barry.

          • Bangel

GEE bogan so original , take one SSV , very average handling , fat , uneconomical , no resale value , shoddy 90′s interior , why would you bother , unless your an uneducated bogan .

        • Sumpguard

I met one of our clients for the first time last night and she rocked up in a 2009 GTI. I asked if she had given it a caning yet? She replied “I’m too scared to, they put a new transmission in it at 11,000 k’s” .

I love the Golf GTI ! But only from a distance. This is whitegoods on wheels as said above but no doubt the badge snobs will flock to it.

          • Vwr32

            I have a r32 with 100000km no problem here
Sister has a jetta fsi with 80000 and no problem there.
Don’t know what your talking about mate.

          • dazel

well mate if you havent realised, the new dsg tranmissions in the golf is a POS. maybe old models arent affected. but seriously vw has become unreliable. the new improved dsg technology might sound good, but why would you put it on a mainstream car if dont know if its gna be realible? lol..

118tsi dsg golfs are the worst affected.

        • Toxic_horse

Except its a totally different class of car, you moron.

        • Dave S

          You can’t be serious!

Even the base VE makes more power than your GTi.
As you know if you want performance, you go for the V8 models (270Kw / 500nm).

Dont really care about you GTi – I would not want to drive a ‘P plater’ or a girls first car.’

The VE will carry you and you family in comfort – quickly and safely.

The Golf is just a generic looking hatch, that tells people ‘you think you are better ’cause you drive a European car’

          • Matty B

You can’t drive a GTi on P Plates in QLD.

          • Joker

Dave S, Power to weight is a different story.
Whilst the GTI does nothing for me from a “passion” point of view but its hardly a P-Plater or Girls car…a Lot of P Platers couldn’t afford one either.
While a GTI may not have as much power, with Launch Control and that DSG Gearbox, it will give an SS a run for it’s money. The DSG would be 2nd while the Commodore’s Auto is still trying to figure out what it’s going to do (ok I’m exaggerating but it is indecisive, highlights the gap in technology).
Both models are for different purposes at the end of the day, not everyone needs a big thirsty V8 sedan to carry there friends/family around in but have the income to buy a GTI/other hot hatch. Way to go boxing all the people that drive Golfs into some sort of Snob category too. Like those cashed up Bogans driving around in Commodores with Chev badges hey?

        • Markus D

Volkswagen website says 155kw and 280nm.

And yours costs a lot more and is a smaller car.

Sorry – just felt I had to add a few more comments to your analysis.

      • Kane Alto

Most Taxi’s are Toyota’s now champ have a look around.
Go drive an FG Falcon absolute top package.

        • Freddo

Probably in your state. Here in vic 90% are Falcons

          • Shak

Actually its the same deal in Sydney. Most of our cabs are Falcons, with the occasional Camry or Commodore.

        • dazel

          most taxis are toyota? LOL
mate its mostly falcons and commodores
          look around

      • A

Mmmm. Here in Bris the taxi fleet has become quite varied. Lots of camry’s, prius, have seen a couple of VW’s actually (passat diesels), Not many new falcons. Lots of older ones, BA/BF. Not many FG though… I suppose that will change with the introduction of the LPI models…

    • BP

I’d rather the ’12 LPG Commodore. There’s no tank in the boot unlike LPi.

      • Andrew M

Lpi doesnt have a tank in the boot, and no E-gas model ever has

        • Devil’s Advocate

Maybe, but if you want to take a spare tyre on an interstate trip etc say goodbye to your bootspace…

          • Phil

And even if you don’t take the spare wheel, the bootspace was reduced over the petrol sedan anyway.

          • Andrew M

It will be the same deal in the Commodore Devil

        • Daniel

The boot space of my mate’s VE commodore looks very similar to that of the LPi Falcon (albeit with a spare). If boot space was a major concern everyone would be buying petrol Falcons and Camrys/Aurions over the Commodore, or even the mazda 6 and Mondeo hatches for that fact. At least the Falcon comes with a can of goo like the Mazda RX-8, or even a space-saver spare.

  • http://caradvice OSU811

Yaawwn, sales must be slowing up at Holden, time for another ltd edition, Equipe, Lumina, 25th anniversary or whatever should do the trick!!

    • Joker

Yea, recent reports indicate they’re about to lose the “Australia’s Favourite Car” mantle.

  • BrisVegas

Is it any wonder the resale value of these things is so bad? Nobody pays RRP when there’s a new super duper special limited edition every other month. Ford are no better, for what it’s worth.

    Truth in pricing please!

  • The Associate

Another Special Edition?! Next they’ll bring one out for Holden’s CEO eating the most sausage rolls at morning tea Edition…

    • http://zuboora.com mohamad is right when he

      Lol hi5

  • Michael

Wow it really doesn’t feel like $9500 of extra value. I mean would anyone actually pay almost $10k for some different wheels and a reversing camera? Crazy.

The leather is also probably that plastic hard fake stuff too.

Yes it is nice that they’re adding some features for free, but they must think we’re stupid to believe it would cost $9,500 extra, even at RRP costs!!

    • Joker

      perceived value Vs. real value..

    • Andrew M

yeah thats very true, but you must surely you are smart enough to look at the actual price and what you get versus the numbers under the big “SAVE” sticker.

If you look at it as 36K versus what you get its a different perception of value.

the $9500 they have come up with must include the discount already on its original list price which is about 40K plus onroads

  • XtRmn8

What is the difference between this and the Berlina International? Looks the same just a different badge :|

    • http://www.facebook.com/priusfreezone Matthew Werner

And the same gutless 3 litre engine

  • Aleks

“The Special Edition comes with new 18-inch alloy wheels, a reverse parking camera, leather upholstery and wrapped steering wheel, fog lights, a slightly revised front grille with chrome highlights, matching chrome instrument cluster surrounds, and Equipe badging”

Wow that badging must cost like $4000. If those features make up $9500 of options.

    • nickdl

Well considering the RRP of an Omega is about $39,500 + on roads you are supposedly saving a fair bit. Despite the fact that you’d be mad to pay more than $32K for an Omega. I think it’s actually really good value. The Sportwagon for $38,990 has everything you really need, plus a few creature comforts. Having said that I’d stump up an extra $3000 for the SV6 Sportwagon at $41,990 at the moment. The 3.6 is a much better engine.

  • Goodfa

The Commodore is really hanging out badly for the VF update.

At least Holden is trying something to keep sales ticking along but the VE is starting to become a hard sell with hardly no exterior changes since 2006.

  • http://zuboora.com mohamad is right when he

I would love to know how many “special editions” Holden have released in the VE range.. Usually any manufacture brings out ONE to push old stock or a new model.. In this case.. Holden always tries to play the party pooper for ford. (ECOLPI)
    FG falcon/coupe60
Series 2 FG/ updated fuel figures and features for VE2
    ECOLPI/ limited edition VE2 ( in article)

Like I said.. Evertime ford comes out with something.. Holden spoils the party.. Good marketing and smart really.. BUT will this be good enough to save sales going to the falcon?

    IMO … no

    • Shak

What sales figures do you speak of? As much as i want both Falcon and Commodore to sell well, Commodore sales have been pretty steady as of late, whereas Falcon sales seem to have fallen off a cliff. I know its because of the lack of many model variants, and abysmal marketing efforts on Ford’s part, but c’mon seriously, Commodore sales dropping due to the Falcon, i dont think so.

      • Alexander

        ^Agreed.

      • http://zuboora.com mohamad is right when he

Ford should pick up alot of LPG fleet sales with the new LPG technology. That’s really where commodore dominates. But really that is just one problem of many..
Ford still need to answer the sportswagon and the SS. To get closer to sales.
I think the ECOLPI and the upcoming ecoboost falcon will be watched with a close eye from ford headquarters in the US.
If those two models do well. It will be very interesting for the future of the falcon… Holden know this.. And that’s why they are going blow for blow.

Malibu is holdens answer to the ecoboost falcon.. Watch as they will try to steal the spotlight from the falcon early next year with that launch.

        • Andrew M

Actually the Malibu is the answer to the Mondeo.

Also Fords sales gap breaker to the Sports wagon is the Territory.
Although it may seem very different it is made off the same platform as the Falcon like the sports wagn is the commodore.
Territory with update sells at 1800 a month, more than what the sports wagon sold/sells at.
I would say the Territory fills the gap of the Sportswagon.

And before you say Captiva, thats more of a competitor for the escape

          • Phil

I didn’t know the Ford Escape was avaliable with 7 seats to make it compete with Captiva?

First full month of new Territory sales was 1400 not 1800 and will probably decline futher as the excitment amongst fashionable soccer mums over the new model dies down.

First full month of Falcon LPi sales has shown almost no difference in total Falcon sales.

          • http://www.twitter.com/#!/darrensrjohnson Darren

Actually Mondeo sedan or wagon has no relationship with the Falcon. Mondeo is a front wheel drive car and the Falcon rear wheel drive. Mondeo is related to Mazda 6.

It is true that Mondeo wagon is being pitched against the Sportwagon though, and especially in diesel form it is a great alternative.

          • Andrew M

who said the mondeo was related to the Falcon??

Also, the Mondeo isnt realted to the Mazda 6 anymore, the Mazda uses the old Mondeo platform, the Mondeo moved to its own new platform a couple of years back

I said Escape is more of a competitor based on size and class

          • Chris

Actually Territory sales are starting to drop off again.
The first few months rush for the diesel is now slowing, last month it was down to 1300 odd sales and at the ridiculous prices Ford are charging now across their range they won’t sustain this.

          • Shane

I priced a base model RWD Territory at a Ford dealer on the weekend and it was close to $50,000 – I walked straight out, they have got to be joking

      • Bent 8 Brigade

lol poor ol’ mohamed is repeating himself when he says another boring anti-Holden comment just like all his previous ones

  • Harold

I think the article is mis-worded, it should read $9500 of extra value not extra features, as most of the value comes from a big price cut over the normal driveaway price.

  • Peanut

How about just making a standard one $9500.00 cheaper.

    • Phil

Well that would actually cost Holden $9500.

The added extras probably only cost Holden about $500.

  • MODERN

hmmmmmm…..I would rather buy luxurious KIA OPTIMA….:-)…wa yu say

    • Old Dog

have you actually sat in an Optima, hardly luxo! cheap cheap plastics/dash, horrible hard seats. some nice shiny plastic bits and bobs though to keep the punters distracted. cool styling sure, but still a kia under the skin.

      • Bangel

GEE calling the pot black ,the crummer dash is the cheapest looker on the market , very 90′s quality and look , shudder , take a look at any euro ford . beats it hands down .

      • Aleks

Sorry mate, I’ve sat in the optima and the commodore, and it makes the commodore feel cheap, and I was in the new VE Berlina II as well. The commodore has misaligned and cheap plastics where the KIA felt quite premium. Everything is put together really well and most surfaces look and feel nice.

  • Bangel

Why , should have just sliced $10k off this average fleeter , thats all ford do .

Nothing special here to stop the slide in sales downwards , australia’s love affair with the overwieght and thirsty crummer seems to be over , terrible reasale .

  • Falcodore

Holden must be seriously worried about the Mazda 3 taking the honors for best selling car.

  • aball

Nice work CA! Since when has “Sportswagen” been the correct spelling? Have we got Volkswagen on the brain?

    • Henry

CA said sportwagen and YOU said Sportswagen so you’re both wrong

      It’s Sportwagon

      • nickdl

Thanks Henry, I hope they notice it now…

      • aball

I was quoting the incorrectly spelt word and asking them a question, pointing out that they’d made a mistake. Read it again.

  • paulb

Good value for money, the sportswagen allways steals the show.

    • http://mickdim@internode.on.net honda1

      Best wagens ever

  • JJ

    HAHA Commodore.

  • Gs

Bangel – I have to say I love your honestly re your GTI – all cars have good and bad

    • Bangel

Sorry Gs compliments of GMH BOGAN , my GTI MKV1 like MKV and MK1V have all been totally reliable , never seen a tray top unlike most crummers , i owned a VS back in the dark days , total junk , i learnt my leason , dont buy GM aussie made rubbish .

Barry has a good business hauling tired crummers off to the wreckers .

      • f4ll3n

Learned your leason, unlike your spelling! ;^)

      • Andrew M

The funny thing is Bangel, there are some people with the opposite tale with what you tell.

Perhaps you got a bad batch commy and they got a bad batch Golf or do you still believe that your word is the be all and end all??

        • Bangel

ALL VS crummers were total rubbish , tasty paintwork , one could see the bare metal , the car one had to have in the recession we had to have .

After that debacle i discovered the joys of quality honda’s .

          • Andrew M

Fair comment, I know a lot of people who owned VS’s too, and they fell to bits, but how about cutting some slack for the new models rather than basing your perceptions on 1996.

I wouldnt say their is joy in Hondas quality.
I personally wouldnt say honda are all that. Plus with Honda you are in for expensive services and god help you if you need a replacement part.

Mazda are the pick of the Japs, and perhaps the pick of everyone.
Ive never heard horror stories about Mazda but there are plenty for other brands including the euros.

The way I see it, I wouldnt be stressing over quality surveys, the thing Falcon and Commy have going for them is that they are well engineered and “IF” something does go wrong, you wont need to take a second mortgage.

Ever seen a repair bill to fix a honda?? Ontop of that the waiting time to get the part into the country??

The Aussies are good value, even if they dont have the fit and finish qualities of someone like Mazda

          • Dave S

Look around at least 15 years later there are still so many VS commodores on the road. Good cars, only outshone by the better newer models.

How do you rubbish and Aussie car and then talk about how you love the boring Honda range? Underpowered and overrated.

    • Phil

My parent’s 2007 Cummer is no better built than a VS model. Similar cheap interior fittings with door handles coming loose and a massive gap around the passenger airbag panel.
Also has a idiotic electric seat height/tilt, yet reclining and fore&aft adjustment is manual? WTF why have 1/2 electric 1/2 manual? Either one or the other!
And good grief, how the hell can a 175KW car be so slow? Barely cracks 9 secs 0-100km\h, it’s worse than the VS Commodore which was at least a full second faster.

      • Andrew M

In all fairness the 3.0L commy motor is built for economy not speed.

I dont here you commenting on how it beats smaller 4cyls for economy

  • BP

I’d rather C’dore grab 16th year at the top than the “Smiley Prick” Mazda 3.

  • Ford

The Holdens have a cheap look and feel to them.

If you are looking for a large car at the moment, you absolutely cannot go passed the Falcon LPi. Anyone purchasing an ULP Commodore or Falcon is quite frankly a fool.

I just wish Ford will market Lpi better. At the top of this article is an Lpi banner which is probably the poorest quality advertisement I have ever seen. I cannot recall the last Falcon add I have see. I can recall the last 3 Commodore adds.

    • Andrew M

      I thought exactlly the same,
are they serious or is their budget for marketing $5.50??

They need a loan of the warm fuzzy music that Holden use

    • Phil

Do you think people in the market for a large cheap sedan won’t know/find out that Falcon exists?

You can market it all you want, people won’t buy things that are outdated and out of fashion.

Also quite a lot of people looking for a large car expect basics like a big boot and a spare wheel. LPi fails to provide both those basics.

      • Matty B

Yeah but the same people who “know” it exsists also think they’re going to get 15L/100km and have the pre-concived notion that they’re driving their parents car.

Effective marketing is the only thing that can over come stereotypes. Why do think you still see a good number SS and HSV commodores getting around compared to XR8′s and GT’s. It’s all about what people think, Holden have done an exceptional job marketing SS and HSV so they’re now in the publics mind a desirable car. Try recall a single a XR8 or FPV add ? Besides the current Allan Moffat reving a GT? Seriously, no disrespect to Allan Moffat but he is completely irrelevant to 90% of the population.

How do you think Hyundai has had such a huge turn around in the last few years ? Cause they saturate the market with their name, through sports, through ads referencing awards. It changes people perception if done effectivley.

And all most people expect out boot space is generally to be able to fit a specific item in, whether they have a pram, two sets of golf clubs, a mountain bike? Otherwise people pack to their needs, the same people that would go on a trip and fill a Falcon boot would also no doubt fill a territory boot. You manage to your means.

I’m not saying the Falcon is the answer to everyones needs, but I honestly believe it is a better car than the commodore, however even if majority of people don’t feel the same as I do, the falcon should be a lot closer in sales than it is. The only thing I can put it down to is public perception and the failure to change this by the marketing department.

      • Andrew M

People dont know what they want, clever marketing tells them.

When was the last time people check the specs sheet to see if it gets a full size spare or can of goo?
Many cars are offering options to spares nowdays and noone thinks twice of them.

Big cars arent all about chasing bigger boots, if they wanted that they would be looking outside of any sort of sedan because the boot opening is always the biggest restrictor.
People want interior space like leg room and a wider console so you dont have to rub shoulders with your passenger

    • Dave S

It’s great you love your Fords but…

The VE2 does not look cheap. The VE Does not look cheap – it looks durable. I like a car to last longer than the warranty. Check out that touch screen, I dont think anything under the price of a VE has one. Oh I know the Fg is just getting one now.

The LPI in the Ford is great, but not buying one does not mean you are a fool. You may want a wagon or even a V8.

      • co.

yeah mate i agree with ya. i got a VE 11 SS auto a few months ago and its grate. the touch screen is really preamium and the red for the SS looks sporty as well plus lots of that expensive eurotrash doesnt even have a touch screen. the whole dash is really preamium as well and its much more exiting then a vw golf or something plus you cant go past the grunt of the V8 sending power to the rear wheels not like those bum dragers. i wouldnt go anywere near that taxi gas for my car coz it stinks and you dont get a boot if you want a spare tyre and it uses so much fuel that you dont save any money plus they dont make taxi gas for the Commodore V8s yet only the HSVs and normal people like me cant afford a HSV.

        • Joker

Hoping you’re not a Troll..either way- this post is funny :)

  • Marketing Man

Any Ford fans, I suggest email Ford and tell them your thoughts about their advertising department. They need a good wake up call.

  • Troy

can you otpion it without holdens hard plastic, i mean leather seats??

the VE’s leather seats are TERRIBLE. Vy had a lot better leather, and vy ss seats KILL a Ve’s!

  • Troy

oh… i thought it was actually good value until i saw it was the 3.0

raced on in my 02 1.3 honda jazz the other day… up to 120kmh (yeah i sped a tad)

    sure i lost…

but not by much! and my car is SLOW!

    • Dave S

You should be just glad you did not break your Jazz, trying to keep uop with a VE.

I doubt there is not much VE can not do better than a Jazz, drive one and you will know there is more to it than straight line speed.

  • Maciej

I’m really getting confused with all these editions!
Which one do i buy?…..lol As if i would ever buy a commodore.

  • ben

    come one people
seriously who do u want to be australias top selling car?
An Mazda made in Japan or a Commodore thats build in australia. Sure the interior of the coomoodre isnt great but i dont know if any of you have sat in a base model fg falcon? there not any better. The fact is the commodore offers a great deal of features for a cheaper price. your all just whining idoits that drive mid sized cars.

    • Devil’s Advocate

It is not that simple Ben. Not everyone has two/three 6 foot teenagers to cart around all the time, or a big trailer/boat/caravan etc to tow. Something like a Commodore is overkill to a retired couple/a single person/couple without children etc in the day to day commute/trip to the shops etc etc. Especially if they hardley ever venture out of a capital city. It is like purchasing a fully articulated semi to cart around five 44gal drums. Sure it will do it, but something like a 3 tonne LR truck would still be able to do it and at a lower cost WRT fuel etc.

Plus in the regular trip to the shops etc, something like a Mazda3 is much easier to park and navigate around the car parks in etc than a Commodore, which let’s face it is a huge car. Could you imagine trying to fit/get in and out of a car in a car park complex where everyone had a Commodore/Falcon sized car filling all of the parking spaces? I swear some car parking spaces are getting smaller!

Don’t get me wrong, a Commodore/Falcon MORE than has it’s place for those people who have those larger families/towable items etc. In many cases they are a much better alternative to the SUVs people seem to be obsessed with. Especially these families with 2-3 kids who never even take their “SUV” out of the city… Plus as you mentioned, they are some of the best value for money cars out there. However it still doesn’t mean that they suit a particular person’s requirement of what they want from their car.

If you want to push the Australian made angle shouldn’t you be saying “instead of buying the Mazda3 people should be buying the Cruze and support more Australian jobs”? That is a much more even comparison that fits in with what size cars the “new car buying public” are buying more than any other. This has been the case for quite a few years now with the Commodore barely making it into the top 10 when you take away fleet sales. When it comes to people spending their own money on a car, they are buying a Mazda3 sized car because the Commodore etc is too big/overkill etc for THEIR (not yours) requirements/needs. THIS is the audience you should be tapping into to convince them to buy a Cruze over a Mazda3/Lancer/Focus etc. That way they are still buying a car that meets their size/economy etc requirements, but with the added bonus of supporting a larger number of Australian jobs. Remember, all car brands support Australian jobs. Cars still have to be purchased/serviced/repaired etc etc etc at the dealerships. Businesses make much more money out of “after sales support” etc than they do with the actual sale of a new car in the first place.

Myself? I buy a car that best suits my needs looking at all of the advantages/disadvantages. If is happens to be an Australian assembled car that is a bonus, however if it is isn’t, I know that regardless I am still going to be supporting Australian families throughout the ownership period etc.

        Well thought-out comment.

I’m going to buying a VE Sportwagon (SS V) because I need a big car and don’t want an SUV, plus it gives me the satisfying power of a V8. You get a lot of value for the money, if you value the power of the engine.

        • Dave S

          Nice.

There is a Black SSV wagon down the road. It looks great.
Great V8 wagon, it’s something no one else offers.

          • paulb

Even the base model wagon looks good.SS+SSV look great. Also the grey colour looks good.

        • Devil’s Advocate

The VE sportswagon is a PERFECT example on a SUV alternative. Besides being much cheaper to service/maintain etc, it also has far superior dynamic safety to just about all SUVs out there. Plus it also happens to look good while it is at it!

          • Bangel

Yep the perfect fleet car , also good for cops , they all look the same , buy the V8 , and watch it depreciate fast , just get the boggo omega and save $20K , WORTH $15K in 3 years , large cars are dying .

      • wre

THANK GOD!  I have found a decent post out of the rubbish

    • Phil

Ummm Ben? The Mazda that’s becoming Australia’s best selling car is the 3.
The Commodore is not avaliable for a cheaper price than a 3. Even with the massive discounts offered on Crummer, you’ve still got to pay about $32,000.
The Mazda 3 is $10,000 cheaper than that without discounts.

  • http://CarAdvice The Salesman

Wow, i had better get in now before it is too late. I dont want to miss out.

    • Devil’s Advocate

That is ok, if you miss out you should be able to get another special edition next month…

  • FRDH8R

    Bathurst baby!!! Woooooooooooooooooooooooooh!

    • paulb

The Falcons have a lot of work to do.The Commodores where really quick on the weekend. Also neally 2 Commodores to 1 Falcon in the race also.

      • Bangel

BOGAN VS BOGAN , get a life the most uninteresting racing in the world , still small things amuse bogan brains .

        • paulb

All the technology from that racing Bangel is seen in the Falcon and Commodore production cars. Its great racing.

          • Bangel

HAHAHA so funny absolutely nothing in common with production car , except for the basic shape , must be pretty old technology racing , dont see it in the road cars ,just taxi’s .

          • paulb

Good point you raise about the taxi Bangel.Todays Taxi is doing around about 750,000 kms.Reliability is getting better.

    • Jack

The 12 hour race is far more relevant.

  • Tronic

Poor Bangel! He thinks his A. Hitler inspired car company (Volkswagen = “the peoples car”) is something special. Get over them – they break just like every other car and in Germany they are considered a so so car, one for the man of the street – nice average car but please don’t go telling us that these cars are special and that every V Dub made is better than a Falcon or Commodore.

just to reinforce the above, the VW owned Czech Skoda which shares platforms and drivetrains consistently gets rated higher for build and quality than the German made comparable model.

Howeverm, just to end on a happy note – lets all give a cheer for Bangels “People car”……….

  • BP

Sitting in the FG Falcon drivers seat, everything was in my face, where as the C’dore it was much better laid out & further away from the eye.

    Anyone else agree?

  • Miranda

surely you lot have better things to do than bitch about cars like a bunch of school boys.

  • John

    i agree
