Mitsubishi Wins Dakar Rally… again

By Alborz Fallah |

Mitsubishi doesn’t succeed in much these days, perhaps with the Evo X coming out soon, the fortunes for the company will change, but till then, when success if limited, but sweet. For those of you who have been watching the Dakar rally on foxtel, this is old news, but for the rest of you, yes, the Pajero has won the rally.. again, for The Seventh Consecutive Time

The so called Mitsubishi Pajero Evolution, won the rally on Sunday 21st January. Drivers Stephane Peterhansel, Jean-Paul Cottret took the honours. What does this really show? Well for one thing, I’d love to see a BMW X3 in the dakar rally, actually I’d love to see a BMW X3 on a dirt road, let alone the dakar rally.

Mitsubishi says that the Pajero is

Designed and engineered to be used as a true off-road vehicle rather than a fashion accessory,

I guess, there is no better testiment to that than 7 consecutive dakar rally victories! Plus the the loyalty of over 2.5 million international customers since 1982.

Mitsubishi Wins Dakar Rally... again

The Mitsubishi Pajero is available in Australia in two body styles – both long- and short- wheel base – and with either a powerful 3.8 litre V6 petrol MIVEC engine or a 3.2 litre intercooled turbocharged common rail diesel power plant. So if your after a real 4WD with actual off-road capability… give the Pajero a go!

Very impressive record. As I am looking for a 4WD i am going to look at the Pajero very seriously. I think that the success speaks for itself. Definately deserves a top conideration.

They have so little incomon wiht the pajaros that this year they have even droped the pajero name on them, and just call them lancers!!
By the way, toyota came 1st,2nd,and 3rd this year in the T2: Series Production Class…
