MINI London 2012 Edition launched as J.J. Jegede jumps three cars

By Tim Beissmann |

With 301 days until the beginning of the 2012 London Olympics, iconic British manufacturer MINI has leapt into action, unveiling the MINI London 2012 Edition in sporting fashion.

Naturally available only in the UK, the MINI London 2012 Edition package can be ordered in MINI Cooper, Cooper D, Cooper S and Cooper SD trim.

The exterior scores white mirror caps and a white roof, with the London Olympics graphic emblazoned on the top as well as the side scuttles.

A Union Jack sport stripe runs over the bonnet, roof and tailgate, and completing the look is a set of 17-inch grey alloy wheels, which are unique to the limited edition model.

The highlight of the interior is the London skyline, including Tower Bridge, Battersea Power Station and the London Eye, which is etched across the piano black dashboard along with the signature ‘London 1 of 2012’.

The black leather upholstery is contrasted attractively by red and blue stitching and white piping, while the London logo again appears on the inner edge of both front sports seats.

On top of the Olympic-themed design elements, the MINI London 2012 Edition also scores DAB radio, cruise control, and interior chrome highlights.

Let the games begin!

I think its nice when manufacturers go out of their way to create special editions that actually have some detail and effort involved….. rather than a different set of alloy wheels and a badge (ahem… toyota)
