Video: Ferrari California hard-top demo
June 26, 2008 by George Skentzos
Details of the newly unveiled Ferrari California are slowly trickling onto the web. The latest addition has been a short video demonstrating the convertible hard-top roof.
The roof opens or closes in just 15 seconds – faster than any convertible to come out of Maranello.

excellent roof design – looks light too!
Sweet… I could watch that roof go up and down all day. Mechanical ballet.
What I’m wondering though, is what happens to these folding roofs in a rollover accident? They aren’t pinned down by very much. They would get ripped off pretty quick but are the occupants of the car in any extra danger due to the large chunks of metal above their heads?
In a proper hardtop, the roof is very solid. In a soft-top, it is canvas and the only danger is from the frames. But in these hard top convertibles, I want to see some video of what happens.
who cares how long the roof takes to open, as long as its not more then a minute
Exactly Mitch, if it folds up like a transformer id be quite happy to watch it for 1 minute.
